Was Michael Vick Smart to Smoke a Joint before heading to the Joint?

Michael Vick may be out of federal prison by next Christmas. He apparently has just applied and possibly been accepted to an in prison drug rehabilitation program at Ft Leavenworth in a minimum security prison. The rehab program is 12 months and could see Vick released early (at the conclusion of the program). It might just be possible that smoking the joint that made him test positive for marijuana in September was the smartest legal maneuver he made to insure that he would be out of jail within 1 year.
If so, that upcoming Virginia trial will be very important if he wants to get out of jail and not serve a back to back sentence in state prison that might prevent him from only missing the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

So What. Its time to leave the man alone. Enough damage has been done. To date Michael Vick’s only expressed desire was that people know Michael Vick the individual and not Michael Vick the football player. The two are not the same. Everyone who personally knows him says the two are not the same, this includes team members.
Michael lamanted the fact that people were saying such awful things about him when they did not know him. From what I gather he is a devoted father and family member. As far as the trial in Virginia, I hope the truth will finally be revealed. The truth was not revealed during the federal trial. Some say he pled guilty. That does not mean a thing. That is called plea bargaining. If I rembmber correctly the prosecutor gave his a specified time in which to plead guilty or additonal charges would be added. If I were him I would have also pled guilty. What about Taylor, Phillips and Peace. I place very little credence in what they said.
Note, the judge could not go along with the prosecuors request that Taylor receive no prision time when he put the whole operation together. The judge said the disparity would be too great. Thus he gave Taylor two month’s prison time and ordered him to pay $50,000 in unpaid child support.
The grand jury in Virginia indited Vick, Phillips and Peace on two counts but they indited Taylor on four counts. Maybe they are aware of things we are not aware of. I hope Michael Vick will make a statement while in Virginia. Too many people have been speaking for him. Its ime for him to speak for himself.
Hypocrites, I respect your alternative views on things, but lets be real. Michael Vick was able to pull a fast one. I’m not saying its wrong or anything, same type of crap that people do all the time to get out of DUI’s and speeding tickets, take some class or counseling.
But all those people that were complaining that his punishment was too long, do not have much to complain about now that he’s only going to be in jail about a year.
I still find it remarkable that by smoking dope, he was able to qualify for a program that gets him out of prison 11 months faster than he would have been out of prison if he had not smoked dope.
This is more a remark on how screwed up the legal system is rather than how bad Michael Vick is for exploiting a screwed up legal system.
But at the end of the day, Michael Vick is STILL bad. You mention many times that in his heart he’s a nice guy and all and that we (everyone else in the world) do not understand him or something because we do not see the real Michael Vick.
I ask you where was that nice guy at when he was killing dogs?
Where was the sweet heart of a father when he was strangling dogs with nooses from a tree?
Where was the model husband when he was electrocuting dogs?
Where was this nice guy that made his mother proud after growing up poor when he was slamming dogs down to the ground and to their death?
As to the other jokers that helped bring out the evil in Michael Vick, you seem to insinuate that these all powerful thugs apparently were so intimidating and powerful that they forced Michael Vick to throw away $250 million, kill dogs, and use his own home as a torture ground and killing field.
If I believed that Michael Vick were that feeble minded (which I do not), then the courts should have committed him involuntarily to an insane asylum as he would be a danger to himself.
I believe if you look at Michael Vick’s actions a little more realistically, you will see that Michael Vick is not only responsible for his predicament, and his actions, but that MICHAEL VICK and no one else was the one that decided to perform all those despicable actions, regardless of what anyone around him was doing at the same time.
