Boycott ON – Goodell Lets Michael Vick Back into the NFL
Goodell has made his decision as I just heard from one of our commenters here on SackVick.net. Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated pending a team signing him. For me that is a game over, and for many more this has triggered a boycott of the NFL, NFL Teams and sponsors of the NFL.

Michael Vick did his time. Now let him move on with his life. How would you like to never be forgiven for a screwed up mistake you have made. Leave the man alone. I do not approve of what he did but he payed a way bigger price than just a few years in prison and a bunch of money. Look at the bigger picture.
the dogs never got a second chance. He’s a very poor rollmodle for the young ones. He should not be aloud to play in any type of sports. Not even badmitten.
I am fine with letting him move on. What I am not okay with is placing him in a career in an organization like the NFL that will elevate him and allow him to potentially be viewed as a role model for future generations. People say that “kids these days” are so screwed up…..look who we allow them to look up to? Where do you think they learn it from????? Let him go work at McDonalds….or *gasp* go to college, graduate, and become a contributing member of society.
RAISE YOUR OWN KIDS BE THERE ROLE MODELS…WHAT IF WERE YOUR KID HUH WHO MADE A MISTAKE IN LIFE ..HUH
but you have to think your kids will hear about the stuff on the news. what if you were that dog who got a beaten. you would not want the trainer to get a second chance. he new that dog fighting was a crime, and he still went a head and did it any way. so stop and think if he should get another chance. he was warrned, told, and lectured about dog fighting.
michael vick should have the same chance for acomeback as he gave the dogs he tortured.
i would like to see him PLAY in a cage with a dozen rabid dogs, and be [deleted] when he loses.
A heartless SICK bastard.
Well said Nancy. MV did pay his debt to society and he did serve time. The fact is he DOES have the right to earn a living. Not in the NFL though. I just put my season tickets on craigslist. I stopped watching the NBA when a bunch of thugs were pounding on fans in the stands also. Unfortunately the moral character of the commisioners and their decisions have really turned me to college sports where they do have good conduct by laws and rules. The good news is my son said yesterday….Dad are they really allowing him to play? …i said if a team will let him yes…he looked at me and asked why? Our youth wants character goodell get with it!!!
Let me ask you a question.Do you have children? What message do we send to our kids if they see someone that lives a life of privelage and then allow him to have it back after such hanus acts? I realized the man did his time, but he should not have a “fan” base rebuilt. Fans? Give me a break. He is an embarrasment. He can redeem himself privately in some other way and continue to try to lead a rehabilitated life. He will have to live with what he did but allowing him to return to such a public and priveleged life is not only irrisponsible, it is absurd. There are many good men out there who would dream of his position and have the talent and human decentcy. He is replaceable. I will boycott the NFL if he returns. I dont want to see his face on the screen every Sunday. He makes me sick.
BTW, well said Mark… It is hard to explain to impressionable children how we can allow him to be one of the chosen few. Unacceptable. He should get an education, which he desperately needs and stay out of the NFL limelight. He will cause more harm than good. Some of us are trying to raise men, not boys. This is another bad example of a poor judgement made by the NFL and the commisioner.
WoW… all these people saying …He did he time give him a second chance… WOW… how many dogs did he kill.. how many years was he doing this…why should anyone get a sceond chance…O.K. look at it this way.. a police officer goes to jail for 2 years for a crime when he gets out does anyone say Hey give him his badge back give him a second chance LOL LOL LOL… yea right LOL… NOOOOOO Its not gona happen .. If the excuse is to pay back the millions he owes ..so what we all make bad investments deal with it.. but to all you people that say O.K. just move on yes lets do ..let Mick Vick go ……….. but in life there is no second chances when you have a GOLD MINE in your hands to mess up…let this be a lesson to everyone… cherish what you have because in a split second it could be gone…
P.S. I wish all these animals he Hurt, Killed, torchered could come back and do the same to him… Mike Vick is is a monster…….
I will boycott any team that Michael Vick is
on. He is a monster and I don’t want children
thinking of him as a hero. He is a very sick &
cruel person. If he is so into fighting why
not get himself into the ring and let someone
kick his ass for him. He is a coward and should
be treated as one, certainly not an NFL hero.
He is a disgusting human being (if that is what
you can call him). I think he should be hung.
Good point A-N-I-M-A-L
There is no such thing as a guaranteed second chance in America or anywhere else, especially where ‘damned foolism’ is involved.
If you buy a powerball ticket, and the number on the ticket is the winner, and you then proceed to light the ticket on fire and burn it up, there is no second chance to get the money either.
Vick torched is lottery ticket among many many other things.
Maria said…”I think he should be hung”. Que?
Animal said… “I wish all these animals he Hurt, Killed, torchered could come back and do the same to him… Mike Vick is is a monster……”. What are you for wishing this?
Nancy says… “i would like to see him PLAY in a cage with a dozen rabid dogs, and be [deleted] when he loses”. Whoa!
Did someone say…Violence begets violence?
If all you folks have to do is bash that guy and try to stall his pro carreer, you are sad sad sad. Get a job or a hobby. Everyone (including me) in America believes Vick is nothing less than idiot or even a complete dick for what he did but the comments above are borderline KKK. And by no means can his acts be compared to child mosltation. Come on! Protest without the anger. You’ll still be heard but you look just like Vick if you want to hang him or see him mutilated. They were dogs not humans. Where is your protests for “diamonds” that come from the blood mines in Africa? Or, has anyone protested against oil companies for the many lives lost in the middle-east. We are talking about woman and children….HUMANS. Put your energy to better use or get a life.
The people who are voiceing their disgust and anger over michael vick are animal lovers who are speaking for those who can’t for those who perished. To all the idiots that ask why not voice concern for human life, we have plenty of folks who speak for our kind. We don’t have enough voices for the poor animals that got tortured and killed
Do you get it now or what?
mark what team are your tickets for and how much you want for them?
I agree with you that the comments suggesting violence against Vick are not called for, which is why I edit/sensor/delete them.
Violence is not the answer here. The answer is to prevent violent criminals like Michael Vick and worse from being in the NFL at all!
Michael Vick did not just kill dogs, a person in his gambling ring & a witness against Michael Vick was murdered, the case is still open.
Furthremore, we’re not comparing the crime of child molestation to illegal gambling rings, killing dogs, dog fighting or even the murder of a federal witness.
The comparison is of situations where people are prevented from returning to specific types of careers after serving time in prison.
There are a lot of other things that need to be addressed … BUT this is a Mike Vick BLOG… and this is the topic I choose to discuss..once again people trying to tell you what you should think , say, do….. well guess what Mike Vick is a Murderer and a LOOSER………..
Michael Vick is a murder of man’s best friend. How could you kill innocent animal? He’s one sick bastard!!
WE LIVE IN A CAPITALIST SOCIETY, WHERE CRIMES LIKE ENRON,THE EXXON VALDEZ SPILL, AND DOGFIGHTING EXIST. IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY, AS LONG AS VICK CAN FILL SEATS AND PLAY COMPETIVELY IN THE NFL HE WILL GET PAID TO MAKE MONEY FOR THE LEAGUE. ALL YOU DO WITH YOUR OUTRAGE IS INTENSIFY THE CONTROVERSY AND DRIVE UP RATINGS WITH YOUR POWERLESS BITCHING.
Yes we do live in a capitalist society. We also live in a society where cash is often used as a form of free speech, ergo you can use your cash to make your point, campaign for what you like, and spend or not spend that money on what you like if its legal.
We choose to vote with our cash and express our speech by running this site and not spending our money on anything that helps Michael Vick or other violent felons in the NFL. When the NFL gives the boot to these violent felons that they like to position as heroes, then we will return (assuming the NFL doesn’t waste too much time). But until then in this free capitalist society we live in, we sure as hell don’t have to support people financially when we don’t want to.
All these people that tell us that we should support the Eagles, should support Michael Vick or should support the NFL with our own money are frankly pretty much crazy and living in a fantasy world where the United States is free only for people to do what corporations tell them to do.
Well, I’m not going to be a slave to the NFL nor any sponsors that want to sell me a bag of goods with a bunch of violent felons mixed in.
No team will want that monster! The fans hate him!
The NFL is a business promoting entertainment. Now that they have reinstated this truly evil piece of crap any companies sponosoring the NFL should be boycotted – this is the way to most effectively protest – hit them where it hurts most. These ignorant people that say things like “he did his time…leave him alone” don’t understand that he took advantage of trusting creatures and this is very similiar to child abuse. I don’t care if he wants to sponsor consenting humans to fight or even kill each other but he took advantage of and enjoyed inflicting pain on trusting non-consenting creatures which to me indicates a level of evil very similiar to serial killers who enjoy torturing their victims.
NFL greed and Mike Vick = no more NFL for me. This guy is a spoiled athelete like many others ( T.O. and Ocho Cinco) have destroyed the NFL. Good bye and hopefully you’ll go bankrupt!!!
WHAT A JOKE the NFL has become
“Let him move on”????? Are you kidding me?? He can move on to some menial job like all the rest of us, not one where he can earn millions of dollars and be on tv every week promoting his evil persona!!!! Most people who have served time are not handed back their lucrative careers on a silver platter. It is completely sickening. I am done with football, which is very sad for me.
Michael Vick is a sick monster. He should be doing community service in an animal shelter (not with the animals) by cleaning out cages. Letting him back in the NFL is a joke! Animals are Gods creatures too. If the Chargers sign him I’m going to boycott our stadium and sell my season tickets.
How stupid are people!!!!This guy skinned a Pit Bull alive while hanging by a rope in a shed. Are the people of this country losing their minds. It`s bad enough they think Obama is our second coming, but to vote on Fox news to let him back into the NFL is about like letting Hitler be President of Isreal. You People that Vote for are NUTS!!!
Looks like I will have a lot more time for more productive pursuits this fall. I won’t be watching the NFL!
The bigger picture? He may say he is sorry now, debatable, but regardless, the damage is done, and he committed atrocious acts. If the NFL actually lets him play again, a bad message is being sent to those that view him as a role model in that he acted in this manner and expects to be absolved by apologizing and working with animal rights groups. Some decisions, actions and choices, such as this one, have serious and permanent consequences, even if you truly are sorry. That is the message that needs to be relayed.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Ive been hearing an alarming number of people talk about how Vick “served his time” and to just let it go. The problem we see here is basic psychology, If it doesn’t effect you, or someone you love, then why should you care? The reason so many people care, is that some of us have children, and dogs. I have a pit mix, and i can tell you first hand that the thought of someone torturing her brings aches to my stomach, and anger to every inch of my being. If any one of us were found guilty of anything close to this, would we get our jobs back? especially one that pays millions? Wake up, there is a whole world of prisoners, that would never be looked at twice to work at McDonalds, let alone the NFL.
It is just asinine to say “he did his time” and “he’s lost so much more”. Forgive me for calling a spade a spade, but the fact is that he had more opportunity than most people in this world, and HE KNOWINGLY PARTICIPATED- (NOT JUST BANKROLLED)- HE HAS SHOT, ELECTROCUTED AND TORTURED for his sick entertainment and profit. He didn’t lose anything- he threw it away! So if it wasn’t that important to him in the first place, why should he even have the option of getting it back? Maybe, just maybe if we as a society were less forgiving towards the moral bankrupt individuals in the public arena, our children wouldn’t grow up to idolize and ape sadistic people like Michael Vick. Just a thought.
And a perfectly stated thought it is, Jules.
These AA posters are just using Vick as an excuse to bitch and moan about something. I don’t even think half of them are football fans.
Hey listen, why don’t we boycott the show on Sunday night(60 minutes). It will be on later.
There is a difference between a violent criminal serving time and rehabilitation. Mr. Vick is a violent criminal who electrocuted, beat, hung and drowned dogs to death with his own hands and for reasons based on profit margins. Not only did he commit these heinous acts over and over again, but he sanctioned the severe violence involved in raising and training fighting dogs as well. I own a female pit bull who had the misfortune of experiencing near death as a “blood dog;” a helpless dog tied up and squeezed or hit until it bleeds and cries out in pain, thus stimulating another dog into killing action. Anyone who has seen video footage of this will never forget it. Also, anyone who has seen what dog fighting does to dogs will remember the images forever (be forwarned, these poor dogs are severely injured and left untreated as they are considered expendable objects): http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8057407326. It is true that Michael Vick “paid his dues” to society by way of the weak and ineffectual laws governing such abuse of animals, but it has not been shown that Michael Vick has been rehabilitated in any way. Certainly he has learned to act the part of the almost-innocent as evidenced in the interview I saw with him tonight wherein he was asked, “what about the dogs, Michael, what about the dogs?” To which he replied, “I didn’t step up and stop it, and that was wrong….” WHAT?! He didn’t “step up to stop it?” This type of misleading journalism is disgusting in its blatant disregard for the truth, and can easily be labeled propaganda. NOT ONCE have I seen Mr. Vick publicly admit to the full extent of his crime, and have only seen him consistently present the situation as though he barely knew of the events. Mr. Vick, you held those struggling dogs underwater until their lungs burst, you sent high volts of electricity into their convulsing bodies until their hearts stopped, and you beat them in the heads until their brains were crushed. And all you can say is you are sorry you “didn’t step in to stop it”? No, Michael Vick does not deserve the status afforded by our society to NFL athletes. These athletes are our children’s heros and role models. People make the point that men who have murdered human beings are now playing football again. How does this justify further wrong action in regard to Michael Vick? At what point do we demand any modicum of ethics from our children’s role models? Please, let those of us who care know where we go from here. We must continue to be the voice of those who cannot speak for themselves, but who would and do die for us.
I beleive the man has lost everything and has learned his lesson so all you people who believe pets are more important to animals can go to hell. I would throw any dog or even my dog in front of a bus to save any humans life
all of you against forgiving him are a bunch of hypocrites. would you save a dog rather than a child in a fire? would you save an animal rather than your mother? let’s put things in perspective. an animal is as loving as a person but don’t say the man should be crucified for the rest of his life because he made a really bad mistake. what you should do as you sign up on this comment page is list every one of your really bad mistakes/decisions that hurt someone, then put in michael vick, then answer my first question, then stop writing nasty comments. if you had as much religion in you as you have hatred for michael vick, you would know the meaning of FORGIVENESS! in fact, when you leave work/school today, stop by a church and ask God to forgive you for your meanness and obvious bigotry!
Cecilia, your analogy is off base. We are voting not to support Michael Vick with our money. There is no law that says we have to support michael vick, nothing that says we have to attend his games, nothing that says we have to buy his jersey, etc.
Michael Vick does not need our charity. He is not broke, he is not living on the street, he has multiple houses, and before he filed bankruptcy withdrew $2 – 3 million dollars in cash.
You can choose to view us as hypocrites if you like, but Michael Vick is just one of many many ex-felons whom I do not provide any financial support to. The only thing Vick needs saving from is himself.
What are Vick’s conditions for Probation? Was he allowed to go out to a strip club where they were drinking alcohol? The best way to get this guy is on violation of probation. You know he can’t help but to either drink, smoke pot, or hang out with people with criminal records.
Make sure you have your vidio cameras on the ready so we can put him back in jail!
Good luck!
GOD YOU PEOPLE ARE SO TWISTED!!! ITS JEALOUSY AND RACISM.YOU CAN CRY ALL YOU WANT HE IS STILL GOING TO PLAY.WITH ALL THAT IS GOING ON IN THE WORLD YOU WORRIED ABOUT SOMETHING THAT YOU CANT CONTROL.IF HE LOOKED LIKED PEYTON OR BRETT IT WOULDN’T EVEN BE AN ISSUE. YOU WORRIED ABOUT YOUR KIDS ….RAISE THEM YOUR DAM SELF!!!!! GO EAGLES!!!!
Pit Viper.
Of all the pro-Vick responses, this eloquently-written one should be placed in the Hall of Fame.
Thanks for adding a laugh to my day
When and where is the protest I will be there!!!!!
michael vick hater
All you anti vick guys are idiots. The president of the humane society said on 60 minutes there are over 150,000 dog fightersin the US, and you guys focus on the one guy who actually speaking out against. If you dumb asses were smart you would use him to push your agenda. I think this country and the NFL showed you narrow minded people that people are more important. Go after the big issues and the people who are still fighting dog cause he cant get convicted again. This must be a non profit organization because you guys have no clue how to solve problems!!
Hi, vick#1Fan:
Wow!! Impressive, indeed. I’ll bet you’re an integral negotiator at your Fortune 500 company. You’ve completely revised my antiNFL/Vick stance. Thank you for the enlightenment.
LMAO!!

ALL THIS TALK ABOUT BOYCOTT NFL,EAGLES,REALLY SO IF HE WENT AND GOT A JOB AT STARBUCKS WOULD BOYCOTT THEM…IF HE WENT TO WORK AT WAL-MART WOULD YOU BOYCOTT THEM….
HEY [edit I love] YOU I LOVE DOGS AND I SAW A THING ON TV A LOT OF VICKS DOGS ARE FINE NOW AND GOT RESCUED YA HE DID A HORRIBLE THING BUT WHEN YOU ARE BORN INTO THAT LIFE YOU CANT HELP IT. ITS ALL HE KNEW. SO NOW, HES LOST 130 MILLION. That feels bad enough on its own. He sat in jail for 740 days. Hes bankrupt now. What the [edit bleep] else do you want quit bitching and let the man play ball hes a freak athlete that people love to watch so shuuuuuuuut up find something better to do with your time bc you cant change anything.
It is disgusting that the Eagles gave Vick a $7 million contract only weeks after being released! Verizon should pull its sponsorship immediately and I have organized a boycott of Verizon until they do which anybody can join here – http://www.boycottowl.com/Verizon+Wireless/7
Oh SNAP! i didn’t see this before. My beavis/butthead laugh is coming out as I plan to flood the net with this info!LOL
Opinions are like what? Yeah, we all have them. An mine is our American society is full of itself. As our humanity increases so does our lack of social justices. No beast shall ever become higher in stature then the simplest of man in my eyes. The crime is the interstate gambling. Dont mess with uncle Sams cut, period! I have loved many a pet and a few strays, but if a beast was attempting to attack me I would kick it into next week or revert into a more ferocious beast using anything at my means to put the attacking beast down. My point is ……. Beyond you and your crude norms an values manifested inside your shelterd and limited minds. But thats just my opinion.
American Legend Jon Doe, I don’t disagree with you on many levels, but would you go out and buy dogs, just so you could take them home and electrocute them for fun?
Would you spend tens of thousands of dollars to do that?
Would you build elaborate structures and buildings just so you could kill those ‘beasts’ at home?
Would you pay your friends and family to kill ‘beasts’ that have done nothing to harm you or them or anyone else for that matter?
Would you take the extra effort to turn domesticated animals into beasts that fear for their lives and are taught to fight to the death just to protect themselves?
If you would, then you are as sick and twisted as Michael Vick, maybe more. But I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and suggest that you are not as sick and twisted as Michael Vick who did those things with money he received from NFL fans.
You see, that’s the thing with this ‘man is higher than animal argument’.
Its full of a lot of hype and BS backed by overly simplified quasi-moralistic religious over tones (typically misunderstood bible stories).
Your normal (non-psychotic) doesn’t go turn a domesticated animal into a killer for fun.
Your average American and your average citizen of any other country in the world, doesn’t go out and kill animals for the joy of watching them suffer. They may kill animals to eat, they may kill animals to protect their herds, but they don’t kill animals just for the hell of it, because your average person anywhere in the world is not a sick twisted lunatic, like Michael Vick.
You complain that as our humanity increases so do our lack of social justices.
That’s about as backwards a thought as anyone could write.
Its our lack or decrease of humanity that creates a lack of social justice.
When we start giving million dollar rewards to people like Michael Vick who have exhibited NO humanity to his family, to his friends, to his cousins, to his business partners, to his team, to his fans, to his sponsors, and to society in general, that sets nasty examples for people in our society.
They see that if they can be like Mike (vick) then they too might get a million dollar reward.
So how can they be like Mike?
All they have to do is go get a puppy somewhere and teach it how to be a killer.
All they have to do is kill animals for fun. Torture a cat or a dog, and you can be like Michael Vick.
That is the sick lesson that our society is teaching kids.
Kill a dog for fun and you to might be able to be a Philadelphia Eagle some day.
Sure you might have to spend a couple years in prison, but when you get out you might get lucky like Michael Vick and get a big fat National Felons League Contract for close to $7 million over 2 years.
So maybe when you can draw yourself out of your crude norms that link a decrease in humanity to an increase in social justice(ergo stop thinking like a Nazi), maybe your own sheltered mind will wake up and start doing something to make this country and this world a better place.
It’s irrational to talk about “beasts” attempting to attack you when the person we’re talking about tortured and killed dogs for no reason except that they weren’t vicious enough
I’d respond to your “point” but I have no clue what it is you are trying to express
