Eagles Ask For Boycott – Get Boycott Over Michael Vick
According to ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles today made one of the worst public relations mistakes in the history of sports, signing convicted felon, dog killer, ex-
quarter back Micael Vick, whom they will pay $1.6 million the first year with an option for a second year at $5.2 million for a total of $6.8 million straight out of prison, which is a lot higher than most ex-felons not counting Martha Stewart.
Vick was signed after McNabb backup Kevin Kolb sprained his MCL.
Michael Vick can practice right away but will not be able to play until the week of October 18th at the earliest if the NFL commissioner fully reinstates Michael Vick.
What does Vick’s Signing with the Philadelphia Eagles Mean for You?
Many of us were ready to boycott the NFL when he was partially reinstated, many more promised to boycott the NFL if a team signed him.
Well at this point those days are now past and we can all be united in boycotting the NFL, boycotting Michael Vick and Boycotting the Philadelphia Eagles too. For those of you that do not want to boycott the entire NFL or all teams, you might consider boycotting any game that Michael Vick or the Philadelphia Eagles play in.

Ya’ll are a bunch of pansies on this website. I have two pitbulls and still like Michael Vick and the NFL. I think everyone on this lame website should go and make room in their home for a pitbull that’s trained to fight. YALL WON’T. STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT VICK PLAYING FOOTBALL AGAIN UNLESS YOUR GOING TO TAKE ONE OF THESE DOGS INTO YOUR HOUSE AND TAKE CARE OF THEM. YOUR TO SCARED! HE DID HIS TIME, NOW LET THE MAN PLAY FOOTBALL.
You sound like a real piece of work, questioning people’s sexual orientation because they don’t happen to agree with you. I donder exactly what it is that you are doing with your pitbulls
I have 2 pitbulls, one is 8 yeards old(have had for 7) and the other turns 11 months soon, both rescued from an animal shelter. Also have a chihuahua. Actually just makes me more upset at what he did.
[edit While I appreciate your efforts on your site, it borders on being something prone to violence against Michael Vick which we do not endorse.]
P.S Vick funded the dog fighting, he didn’t participate in it. Get your facts straight douche bags. This website is so lame it screams homo sexual.
That’s completely false, he was hands on in every part of the operation, even stopping to put ovealls over his nice clothes so he didn’t get them dirty when he went out to hang, drown or electrocute his dogs
Mike Vick has paid his debt to society. Now let him get on with his life. This site is ridiculous and people that are trying to social lynch this man or something. That’s what this idiotic campaign amounts to. This is still America, right? Jesus Christ! I can’t believe anyone would waste their time with this. It’s just insane! If you look up to athletes as role models, you should take a hard look in the mirror and think about whether or not your head’s on right…seriously. THIS WHOLE THING SMACKS OF LATENT RACISM…..
Despite your attempts to make this cause into something it is not, we simply do not want violent felons in the NFL regardless of what color, creed, religion, sex, height etc they may be. We do not need violent felons in society placed on a pedestal, backed by hundreds of millions of marketing dollars promoting them as heroes and role models. If anything, it is racist to promote the inclusion of Michael Vick in the NFL where he will be a role model for kids. It certainly sets a terrible example for children coming from poor areas to connect emotionally with a person that has committed the crimes that Michael Vick has committed, and then see that society has rewarded that person before, during and after his crimes.
You can keep spouting off about how this site is racist if you like, but you my kindly visitor are the racist for trying to push and promote the likes of Michael Vick on children. They deserve better, your attempts to promote damaged goods as a hero and hold those children back from their true potential, hold them back from achieving a life without violence a life without crime is the real racism issue here.
Anyone that tries to hold children back with models that are this flawed is no better than a Walt Disney or Warner Brothers painting black face on cartoon characters and portraying them in social roles that demean the subsequent characters.
Anyone that promotes Michael Vick to stay in the NFL and work as a hero for kids is the real racist.
I vehemently disagree, and you should be more sensitive to this blog’s readership and disavow practicing racism in this forum – I find it most insulting, tired and petty.
Many of us are against the NFL and their deifying a man who’s committed egregious and brutal crimes over the course of his life. We do not want that level of sadistic pathology touted as a role model for the youth of this country. We have a rich history replete with mimicry of sports heroes from clothing to hobbies. That’s it – long and short.
You’re free to manipulate my response and bundle in junk opinions and baseless conjecture, as do others who share your support for Mr. Vick. But do not assume a racist undertone – by doing so demonstrates your irresponsibility poster and delegitimizes your post.
Hey, why not protest the fools who drive drunk and kill humans!!! I love dogs, but I am not gonna treat this guy like I was there and actually saw him kill dogs! DID ANY OF YOU??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!If I had to choose between a human or Dog I would choose the human EVERY DAY of the week!!!!! LEAVE THE MAN ALONE!!! Do something to help this countries economy get better. Then I would say you are doing a good thing…..
Oh, so because you didn’t see it, it’s OK with you? Three of his partners were prepared to testify that he personally tortured and killed dogs which is why he pleaded guilty before all of the story got out about what a sadist he is
Amen, brother.
What are YOU doing, Everett? We are doing EXACTLY what we want to do – working on a cause that matters to US. What did you do today to improve the world, Everett? Or do you prefer sitting back on the sidelines and criticizing the efforts of others?
Let me know how you improved your community today. Please forgive me if I’ve missed the breaking news report of “Everett Changed the World Today”.
You and your ilk are freakin’ hipocrites who much prefer to innanely criticize the valiant effort of many because it’s contrary to your myopic opinion.
So tell me, Everett… What did you do, other than embarass yourself.
I think the people that put together this website need to take a real long look in the mirror before casting judgment on others. In no way do I support what Vick did, however I do support our country’s legal system and the ability for those people that make mistakes to have a second chance. Bottom line, the guy paid his debt to society, is trying to do positive things to demonstrate he has changed and everyone (even the guilty) have a right to work. If he still has the skill to perform in his job then there is absolutely no reason why he should not continue to play in the NFL and the NFL or the Eagles should not have to apologize to anyone for giving him a second chance. Do you have any idea how many people are arrested and serve jail time each year? Do you have any idea what it would do to the economy (as if it wasn’t in bad enough shape already) if anyone convicted of a crime couldn’t work after their time was served? Sounds to me like this website is fueled more by jealousy and hate than anything else. Although I was disgusted with the crime Vick was convicted of, he repaid his debt, and I am just as disgusted by people creating hate and slander on websites such as this. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
What slander? You show me the proof that Vick did not personally participate in executing dogs and I’ll give him an apology
Max, you only read the last three lines, didn’t you?
No, Ty, I’ve read every word of every post trying to justify Vick’s getting back into the NF, I just found the mention of slander particularly crazy.
He served less than two years for conspiracy and racketeering, no time for animal abuse and people think he deserves to be given a second chance to be a millionaire and influence young people with his demeanor on and off the field
Thanks Mick?/all sharing links. I JUST spoke w/person who answered that 800.8595339 Dunkin #, good corporate #,says “will make sure my(family.friends/neighbors’) message is known.”(“None of us will be patronizing…until, etc.”)

Shame on the NFL for letting that monster, Michael Vick, play football again and double shame on the Eagles for signing him on and paying that monster $7 million for a two year contract. I’m outraged and will spread the word to everyone I know to boycott any sponsors of the Eagles football team.
Monster? Come on now. Would you feel better if Vick had a job at the county making $30K a year, or would you prefer he not be allowed to earn a living at all.
I’d rather Vick take almost any other job than the job that he abused in the first place.
He should be in a job away from the NFL, and in a spot where he won’t be in the spotlight. He’s already proven that he can’t handle it.
I’d feel better if he got a job cleaning dogruns at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary except that it might upset the surviving pitbulls from his operation which they are caring for
Who are you people! It really sickens me to see the sorts of “RACISMS” that arise when people make mistakes. He made a mistake. He has paid his debt to society! I’ve seen wealthy individuals kill “people” and receive 30 days in jail! A white couple in MD was recently convicted of sexually exploiting more than 20 children, video taping them and posting it on the internet. One of them as young as one years old! I only saw it on the news once!!!! Use your time wisely! The time your wasting promoting hate you could me helping a more worthy cause. Football players aren’t the only people making mistakes. It’s a cancer that has spread amongst “all sports”. The reason you people have issues with football is because the players are majority non-white. If your going to start a campaign to stop cruelty try doing some research about the origins of dog fighting. Everybody knows he wasn’t the only person involved and he sure enough didn’t invent this horrible, horrible so called sport . Dog fighting has been around since the 16th century. Look beyond the surface for once. He was just a fall guy. Any idiot can see that. There are worst things happening across the US. Take a look at yourself before you judge another. This website promotes both hate and racism!
Mimi, You are the real RACIST. I am sick and tired of all you black people screaming “racism” when you get caught doing something. Get a life and stop being so ignorant.
Mimi,
Why didn’t you do something to take action against that couple. I don’t live in that area and never heard the news about it. You should do something to raise awareness, get people involved, and prevent it from happening.
That is what we are doing here and because of our actions, you have heard about this situation and you are doing something about Michael Vick by contributing to this conversation.
We are not wasting our time as can be seen by our results so far. Consider how much more YOU could do if you channel your own energy into causes to improve society.
Consider what Michael Vick could have done if he had channeled his energy into any cause as opposed to running a dog fighting ring. Consider what Michael Vick could have done the last 3 weeks if he has channeled half his energy into improving the world as opposed to trying to get his old job back.
What does racsim have to do with this? By bringing it up, you are the proven racist.
Most of our society has progressed since the 16th century. Things which were once considered acceptable such as slavery and polygamy are now illegal as is dog-fighting.
he didnt abuse his job he abused the dogs.
Explain that to the Falcons and his sponsors that sunk close to $200 million into Michael Vick. All he had to do was live a relatively decent life. Instead he opted to go off and act like a juvenile Ted Bundy.
MICHAEL VICK WAS NOT, N-O-T, INCARCERATED FOR CRUELTY TO ANIMALS! Get your facts in order, Claire.
The boycott is based on more than Vick. It’s about the NFL keeping felons on the payroll. The payroll that gets paid by the fans and the sponsors.
Playing a sport professionally is not a right. It’s a job. When you mess up on the job, you get fired. Period. End of story. There are people that don’t mess up on the job that would be much better for the job and deserve the chance to show how well they can do the job.
If you have nothing to contribute but wrong info, please do your complaining elsewhere. The intention of this effort is to put a stop to the overpaid “role models” our kids and grandkids see as getting away with murder (literally).
Remember – you might not be a gambler – but Michael Vick was and is. He gambled with the lives of very innocent animals that live to love their humans and love them no matter how horrible they are. He was put in prison for running a game. We don’t want him running one on us or our children any longer.
Robin
If this website is based on more than M. Vick, why is it called sakvick.net? It should be called helpmepromotehate.net
The site was named sackvick back in 2007. Back then Michael Vick was working to lie to the public and almost bought his way out of trouble.
We accomplished our mission back then, and have changed our mission this year. We have considered changing the name of the site to reflect our goal of preventing violent criminals from playing in the NFL. We operate at a loss, funding the site with our own money and energy. Time and money are the only things preventing us from growing this movement. This is not all about Michael Vick, but the site does have voice.
Its never been about hate. If you look further into the site and our history, you would realize this. In the meantime, I challenge you to do something to promote the important things that you perceive, even if you feel that is promoting something that challenges this website.
The only reason he was not charged with actual cruelty to animals is because of a plea bargin. He was told to plead guilty to funding the dog fighting ring and in exchange they would drop the other charges. OH and these r true facts.
I received this via email a little while ago – twice, with two different case #’s.

Robin
Hi, Robin – I just checked my office email – I got a response, too!
I also posted the above links in my Dogster Group
To date, we have 100 members – the majority of which have been emailing and faxing all day
Wow you are a moron. You keep wasting your energy trying to get people to not drink beer because the Eagles signed Michael Vick! Do you or any of your misguided whackos even own any rescued pits? I doubt it. Pathetic.
And I apologize for calling you a moron. Emotions got the best of me.
This is supposed to be the schedule of where sick’s new team will be…I’m wondering best ways to use this info-
http://greenlegion.com/upcoming-trips-topmenu
I hope there are local protests before these games, enough to really shake things up, preferably close it down.
While yes, there are “bigger” issues around all this, I will never get the images of those poor, beautiful dogs’ bloodied faces out of my mind. Sick deserves to have his neck broken in a tackle.
Shut down the game hahahahahah. I am season ticket holder can not wait to see people protest the games because you guys will just get walked by and no one will pay you mind except for some photos with drunk fans. Can not wait to see you all at the games. hahahahahahaha!!! go Eagles
No HUMAN should have to spend a single day in jail for anything he or she does to their own ANIMAL. PETA and the HSUS are trying their best to take away any rights you have related to animals. Their agenda is to give animals the same rights as humans. Their eventual goal is to eliminate all forms of hunting, animal agricultural production and animal research. When animal rights fanatics can get their agendas passed through the various legislatures taking away whatever rights you have to use your own animal for your benefit ——this is no longer the “Land Of The Free”.
You’re a moron.
No, you’re an INBRED MORON! Don’t you know that most people that are animal abusers and torturers are usually Psychopaths and have a common connection with SERIAL KILLERS! Google the triad profile of a serial killer and you’ll understand! Jeffery Dahmer, John Wayne Gacey, et al, all shared/share a common fraternal thread of personality trait; animal abuse! Therefore, based on your logic and the logic of others like you, we should have given those people second chances as well…..before their Karma caught up with them of course. LOL!
Rick – Your tenor and post is really creepy. You should be on a ‘neighborhood watch list”. Yikes!
Haha. So you’re saying that if it was found that some SSKs (Super Serial Killers to distinguish the bad ones from the normal serial killers) all happened to use Dove soap products that you would say anyone who uses Dove is a SSK? Of course not, at least I hope not.
Correlation does not prove Causation.
Correlation does not prove causation, but if Dove soap chose to endorse the serial killer, or sponsored a company that then went out and hired the serial killer for say $1.6 million with a $5.2 million option in the second year, you can bet that Dove soap would get a boycott pretty fast.
Well at least they are not trying to rob our purity of essence, the fnords would never stand for that!
Rick….what can I say…or was that Dick? Can’t remember….anyway, may you be rubbed with rotten bologna and put in a pen with animals that have been treated badly by people like you.
The Land of the Free to Abuse Dogs, I hardly think that’s what the Founding Fathers intended. Bet you think you should have the right to do whatever you want to your family members too without any government interference
No doubt, some Eagles sponsors are wringing their hands about whether that unimpressive résumé could rub off even slightly on their brands. And like most NFL franchises the Eagles have plenty of such sponsors, including Canon (CAJ), Budweiser (ABI.BE), Gatorade (PEP), MasterCard (MA), Staples (SPLS), and US Airways (LCC). In an especially rich deal, NovaCare Rehabilitation years ago bought the naming rights to the team’s training facility. The Eagles play in a football palace named Lincoln Financial Field, a deal that is costing the insurer Lincoln National (LNC) nearly $140 million through 2022.

Vickhater, u are dumb. Some of our brother’s & sister’s still eats Cat & Dog in other countries. Sponsors will not go a way dumb mother F$___ker…
Serious people get a life, all the protesting and the calling to sponsor will not do anything. Do you not understand that the sponsor do not sign players. I mean budwiser is not going to pull there product out because of vick. they make alot of money off us eagles fans for their beer. This issue is over with so you can take down you gay t-shirts. GO Eagles
I’m going to write to all of these companies tomorrow – print seems to get more attention, then send Jeff Lurie my old Eagles jersey that i used to wear to the games that I will no longer be attending.
It’s a sad day to be an Eagles fan… I guess that would make me a former fan.
U are a jackass, i would send your jersey back to u in little pcs. Jackass…….Cats & Dogs are eaten in other countries. Dumb Pucker…….
I’ll keep posting this forEVER…..People who engage in dog fighting should be painted in blood and thrown to the dogs!
I will never watch NFL football again, especially the Eagles! Their team will be cursed with Vick as a player!
Dumb F#$% cats & Dogs are eaten in other countries. They should never have the same rights as human. So shut the fu#$ up…..Dog lover!!!!
Why don’t you move to one of those third-world countries where the poor eat dogs? Or better yet, maybe one where cannibalism is still practiced?
Well I’ve decided to dump NFL football and watch REAL football…..soccer! I’m sick of seeing a bunch of OVER PAID dog fighting, crack smoking, wife beating alcoholics running around on a football field with their heads up their asses anyway. PHUK the NFL and the EAGLES!
Once again, the common thread to abuse to our children, our elderly, serial killers, and the list goes on…is ANIMAL ABUSE…ask America’s Most Wanted, John Walsh.
Those of us that work in the trenches and have to attempt to clean up the damage of these sick minded individuals would only ask that you read the files and open your mind to really HOW SICK this behavior really is. It has no place in the 21st Century if we ever hope to end killings, torture, abuse, neglect and just plain meanness -the “just because we can” mentality has got to stop. It is just plain sick and it is…let me remind everyone…against the law. Laws were broken. He is a felon. Felons lose their rights…read the laws already on the books. Let’s enforce the laws. It makes for a civil society.
susie…susie…susie. felons lose their rights to play in the nfl or do they lose their rights not to earn a living??? which one??? they lose neither the former nor the latter…what country do you live in???
last time I checked we lived in the United States where we don’t have to roll over and accept any old ignorant thing that someone else tries to push us. We don’t have to waste our money or our support on people that don’t give a crap about us. We don’t have to support a team like the Eagles that will staff its team with the dredges of society. We don’t have to support an organization like the National Felons League that will put violent criminals on the field and encourage our kids to idolize them.
I keep seeing people throw the coward word around here in the comments of this site, well what kind of person does exactly what they are told even when they know its wrong.
Answer: A coward.
What type of person quotes the bible to defend evil and wrong but does nothing to stop evil or wrong?
Answer: A moral coward.
What type of person electrocutes dogs, beats them with their bare hands, slams them to the ground and drowns them when he can’t win a football game often enough to make himself feel like he’s important enough?
Answer: You thought the answer in your head before I ever had to type it.
You want to support that type of person? There are a lot more worthy people in the world that deserve support, but Michael Vick is not one of them.
Seriously? The man does a crime… does the time… and you are still butt hurt about it? What about all the players in Basketball that beat fans during a game, did you boycott then? What about when players in baseball were caught using drugs and then denied it, did you boycott then? You can’t pick on Vick who did his time in jail, and now needs to make his living again so he can be among society again. Which is what jail is suppose to make you do.
We have a high expectation of people who are in the puplic’s eye. Rightly so. Somehow, someone taking drugs and lying about it is different than someone who ties up a dog to a tree by it’s neck and beats it to death. Cruetly to animals is the first element of the triad of Sociopathy. Beating up fans is not. It’s just in poor taste. A society is judged by how it treats it’s animals. Michael Vick helped us fail in that category. He’s not sorry about anything just that he had to spend his time. He just thinks he is so special. Ha. 2nd chance? Why don’t we give him a second chance with a few of those dogs that he abused?
As a lifelong Eagle fan..( I mean 50 years)……I am disgusted and ashamed…My new favorite team is ANY team playing the Eagles.I feel like somebody died…
As a lifelong Eagle fan. No, you being fake all these years [edit - I like saying bad words, it makes me feel cool, even when I type them in code]
This is the most pathetic site I’ve ever seen. Read the legal books??? The legal states you do the crime, you do the time. This man spent 2 years in jail and LOST 60 million dollars for this heinous crime. Do you want to punish him forever???? If he is sincere about helping your cause, isn’t that a good thing? Kobe Bryant raped and sodomized a woman. Barley got a slap on the wrist. Be realistic people.
You be realistic…many people cannot get a job cause they are convicted felons and that is the reality. Vick gets rewarded.
He really sounded sorry playing the blame game. Never will fans accept him.
Shame on the Eagles. We will boycott all their sponsors.
Go ahead dumb shit….
and you’ll probably lose a couple of pounds..no more donuts or tastycakes and diet pepsi…u can’t do it
You Vick supporters must really be running scared because you see you are in the minority so you resort to tactics that sound like elementary school
When and where are we protesting? Someone needs to get this thing organized. August 26th sounds good. We need to target sponsors nationwide and the Eagles.
Let me remind all who say “it is just a dog”…that our Creator made the animals FIRST. When Noah was asked to build the Arc it was to bring the animals on board two by two…not humanity…for they had misbehaved so horrific that they were destroyed by their Creator.
Are we there again? Ignorance can be fixed – STUPIDITY IS FOREVER. He is just stupid and a FELON TO BOOT. He has lost his rights and he did it to himself. No other person commiting a felony is rewarded. Michael Vick is scary, a con-artist, a liar, and NOT OF GOOD CHARACTER…but, he has been stuffed down our throats with a TAKE THAT YOU ANIMAL LOVERS – mentality by people who promised to “clean up the mess in the NFL”…now we know where the real mess is…the ones who allow him to be rewarded. Somewhere there is a really good person that can play football just as well as Michael Vick. You might ask Coach Bob Stoops, Oklahoma University how he would handle this situation. He NEVER rewards bad behavior even if it means losing a game. He is of good character…what say the NFL folks come to Oklahoma and take “Stoops Troops Lessons”?
Gator bait.
and the lord said animals and beasts were here to use at our disposal…not that I agree but that is what the bible says…
Are you Amish or Mennonite? The only people I’ve ever heard misuse the Bible for mistreatment of dogs are puppy millers
Animals were created by God for our use, not our abuse.
Proverbs 12:120: “A righteous man cares for the needs of his animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” (He could have been speaking of Mr. Vick)
Job 12:7-10: “But ask now the beasts and they shall teach thee and the folws of the air and they shall tell thee…who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord have wrought this, in whose hand is every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”
If you are a believer, you should see in animals and their dependence on us, a parallel to our dependence on a power greater than ourselves.
But I really doubt that someone who attempts to justify the torture of animals believes in much of anything except maybe the Dirty Birds
that is the ugliest tshirt ive ever seen. this is just disappointing to see. i dont think this site will have any effect whatsoever but atleast your voices will be heard… woohoo…
We are much better at websites. Admittedly t-shirts are not our thing. Anyone out there that has better t-shirt designs, please send us a link and we will share them.
http://foryourentertainment.blogspot.com/2009/08/more-contact-info-for-philadelphia.html
Link for eagles sponsors
Okay, this is disgusting. J & J Snack foods sells Dogsters Healthy Treats for dogs. There’s something sick about supporting Michael Vick when you buy your dog a snack. Unfortunately, the only contact info is a form on their website at http://www.dogateers.com or email at [email protected].
I’ve started organizing my list of boycott items and it’s amazing how many products that Pepsico alone puts out that I buy on a weekly basis (Quaker, Doritos, Lipton and on and on). Looks like some lifestyle changes are in order if they don’t pull out.
I encourage everyone to dig deep into the product lists and contact as many of the individual companies as possible. If the big guys won’t listen, maybe the smaller ones will!
Lipon too? Ice tea and grits, damn. I heard Snapple was a sponsor as well – wrote them to ask no respnse yet. Do you know if they are?
Yes, Snapple is a sponsor. It was the first one I found on the Eagles site.
hahahaha…ur changing your mind now aren’t u chubby dorothy… can’t give up them grits and tea..u guys are ridiculous
Not anyone I know in Oklahoma will be watching the NFL, or will purchase one item from any sponsor.
We have REAL MEN to watch…i.e. Bob Stoops and his players at Oklahoma University. Go Sooners. We reward GOOD behavior.
UPDATE: there isn’t an nfl team in oklahoma just shitkickers and tumbleweed… screw bob stoops
I bet you would, Abe (screw Bob Stoops, I mean) Anyone who goes around questioning other men’s masculinity usually has a serious problem about his own
I don’t think that a Brain Scan will be able to determine if he has a heart and soul.

very interesting….
The man has paid his debt, everyone is entitled to a second chance in life, let it go…..
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Friends:
I am as upset and furious as all of you. However, I would ask you to consider exercising restraint in your messages to the Eagles corporate sponsors. If we are too over the top and vitriolic in our statements, we run the risk of being dismissed as cranks.
I have sent the following message to all the corporate sponsors at all the email addresses I can find:
“Dear Sir or Madame -
I am writing to express my sadness and shock that the Philadelphia Eagles have offered Michael Vick a position on their team.
As a corporate partner of the Philadelphia Eagles, I am hopeful that you will use your relationship with the Eagles to convince them to reverse this regrettable decision. We do not wish to see Michael Vick play in Philadelphia or anywhere else in the NFL.
If, however, you cannot convince the Eagles to part ways with Michael Vick, I believe that your only responsible course of action to cut ties with the Eagles and refuse to sponsor or support them further.
I could go on at length as to the horrible and evil acts perpetrated by Mr. Vick. However, I would believe as a reasonable and knowledgeable person you would all ready have these facts at hand.
If this decision goes unchallenged by you and Michael Vick is allowed to play for the Eagles, I will be force to discontinue my current use of any and all of your products and to convince my family and friends to do so as well.
I am really hoping you can reach out to the Eagles and make them understand the mistake they are making here. As a company of conscience, I am sure you must feel as strongly about the Michael Vick matter as I do.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.”
I feel this statement does a decent job at walking the balance between expressing my discontent without seeming irrational. I am sure that some of you may be able to improve on this greatly, but I submit it merely as a possible outline.
Finally, I would ask you to all submit your emails REPEATEDLY. You may think once you have said your peace the first time they will dismiss you, and that is probably accurate.
However, this is not just about getting our point across. It is about making life so painful for the sponsors that they drop the Eagles. If we can overwhelm their email servers with protests, we go a long way in convincing the sponsors that the Eagles are just not worth the trouble.
After a few of their revenue streams dry up, I think the Eagles will be encourage to act more responsibly towards the community.
Louis – Your letter was excellent, and I agree wholeheartedly about practicing restraint in communicaes with the sponsors, Eagles, etc. Thanks for the reminder!
Great, great job!!
Lius said “The man has paid his debt, everyone is entitled to a second chance in life, let it go…..”
Luis – second chances are for people who make mistakes. Somebody calls you a name and you get in a fight….that’s a mistake. You’re having trouble feeding your family or making ends meet and, in a moment of weakness, you steal something….that’s a mistake.
6 YEARS of sadistic, illogical, and brutal torture….6 YEARS of breaking the law every SINGLE day…..6 YEARS of running an underground, criminal organization…
That’s not a mistake……that’s EVIL
Evil men DO NOT deserve second chances.
Michael Vick all ready got his second chance….he’s out of prison…..had I been the judge he would have been in prison for the rest of his life.
You are pathetic. A mistake is an error. So he made a long, kinda bad one. It’s no worse than you masturbating as opposed to nailing your wife who sorely needs it. It’s too bad you’re a waste of breathe, space, and blood, because I could’ve used that to make a new dog and use it to fight my rabbit.
Let me tell you a story.
When I was a kid, dog’s weren’t as important as people. Dog’s were perceived as pets, as they should be today. When my dog [edit screwed] up, we shot it.
One dog bit me, shot.
Another bit my friend, shot.
Another bit another dog. We watched him get killed. (And shot the other one.)
Dogs are brutal creatures who need to die. Anyway! Long live Michael Vick! Maybe someday he’ll be on my team! <3
Oh and by the way, a year and a half is plenty of time given up to realize that maybe letting dogs kill each other isn't a great idea.
[edit a term to describe the orifice from which I first entered this world]…
Vick is the man!!!! Protesters need to get a life and stay out of people business!!!
GO VICK!!!!
GO VICK!!!!
GO VICK!!!!
vick needs people like you NO MORALS
thank god my two boys dont look apon that piece of scum as a role model
Let me get this straight. This website is trying to deny a man his job. It’s like… If I went to college for four years to become an engineer, went to jail for fighting dogs, and got out… none of you would like me to be an engineer anymore?
So is it just that you’re jealous because he’s making minimum wage in his profession, and it still blows your salary out of the water? Or is it that he’s black and you can’t stand a black man out of prison?
Answer this question: What do you want?
If you were in most professions, you would have lost your job and not gotten it back.
I am sending e-mails to all fo the Eagles sponsors and I am boycotting all of their products. Some Eagles fans have shown that their love for life and the rules, are stronger than the love for their team (as it should be). Having said that, it is evident why so many avoid the “City of Brotherly Love” as it clearly the city that loves sinners. Their coach pretends to be this God loving man, yet his family and his team are surrounded by evil. I believe in second chances, but not at the NFL level. While others argue that it is good to have a man who shows remorse, people with half a brain see the reality. The Eagles aquisition and signing of Vick shows that no matter what your crime is, you can always be rich and successful. I do not want my children exposed to this garbage and i am boycotting the NFL. I hold season tickets for an NFL team and I will not attend any games nor will I sell my tickets. Shame on us for allowing big organizations to walk all over us with these criminals. The commish dropped the ball yet again.
I believe in second chances but not at the NFL level?? HAHA, please explain.
You people are all idiots! This man paid is debt to society and is working to put a tragic incident behind him. He will do more to raise awareness of animal cruelty than any if you ever will and have! I PRAY that when you make a mistake people can forgive you and allow you to become a better person after you have paid your debt to society! Stop being idiots and support someone who is working hard for your cause and trying to better himself! This country gets more and more ridiculous on a daily basis behind idiots like you who do nothing to help a fellow HUMAN being! Be humane and forgive the man and allow him to prove himself to be a better man!
The above is exactly what I mean. Eagles fans love a criminal. when he plays for them. What a sad reality we live in. If he were a better man, at least half of his paychecks would go to the exposure of additional fighting rings. By the way, how many other names has he given up?
Yea right..he goes to the school and says to the kids…don’t do it. That is real brillant. Let him work for the ASPCA all the time.
Not reward him with big paying job.
Actually the guy is washed up. He was lousy on the field anyway.
He was hated in Atlanta by the fans even before anyone knew he was brutalizing animals. In my opinion the guy is a bad influence for the younger rookies coming in.
There is a poll right now on the Philadelphia Eagles website on whether you are a MV “Hater or Lover”. Go to their website and show ‘em what you think
I’m not an Eagles fan! I am a fan of human beings and a fan of due process and a fan of rehabilitation a fan of forgiveness! What are you a fan of condemnation? Does at least half of your checks go towards the exposure of additional fighting rings, I doubt it. The man has financial issues to fix and I still bet he will spend a lot of HIS money supporting the take down of dog fighting rings and the efforts to raise the awareness of animal cruelty. Try looking in the mirror, we all have things to work on. The proof is in the pudding, give the man a chance to show what he will do, and then judge him on that!
Sorry. I feel differently. He does not deserve more chances. Look at his past. he is well suited for prison.
Only people as rich as Mr. Vick was and unfortunately may be again can afford to donate half their income to charity.
We all have things to work on but few of us are held up as role models and overpaid the way celebrities and athletes are. To whom much is given, much is required
So you don’t have the $ to donate to charity but you are so quick to demand someone elses? Interesting.
Not just someone else’s money. An ex con with the ability to really right his wrongs. Why do you care about his money when chances are they will just go to sponsor more illegal activities.
He has been given the ability to right his wrongs. That’s what you people are so angry at right?
And Im not concerned about his money, I’m concerned how you and your following are so quick to ruin a man instead of cheer for him to turn around his life and create a positive voice for your cause. Thats vindictive and disturbing and you perpetuate the cycle of hate that he started with those animals. Obviously you people don’t know how to be the bigger person.
Michael Vick has not righted his wrongs yet. It seems extremely premature for the Michael Vick to be provided the golden ticket almost immediately after leaving prison and after having done almost nothing to right his wrongs.
We would gladly cheer his efforts to right his wrongs or get on with his life but not in the NFL, not in a position where his past actions and the rewards he received before during and after those past actions, dismiss all the illegal activities that he was involved in, all the people including his friends and family that he sponsored to engage in those illegal activities.
Cheering him on to repeat his mistakes is not something that we would engage in, cheering him on as a role model for kids when he has not righted his wrongs does not make sense.
Putting him back in the same situation that helped instigate those wrongs actually seems like a tactic to cheer for his repeated fall.
If a fox eats the chickens in the hen house, and you capture the fox and lock it up for two years and then let the fox free in the hen house again, have you done anything to help the fox reform or help protect the chickens?
I would match my charitable giving against yours any day but only the wealthy could afford to give half their income away and still survive. Most of us don’t have million dollar jobs
I’ve read about half the comments here, and it seems Vick’s apologists, besides lacking any sense of propriety or ethics or scope, are borderline illiterate. Why is that?
The rest of us have to suffer consquences for our wrong doing. Vick gets a slap on the wrist for his sentence then his let out and rewarded by the NFL.
I cannot stand to watch any ESPN or NFL channel any longer and the announcers are disgusting raving about a 2 bit hood who was capable of despicable acts as he mumbles deadpan well I was raised this way. Blame game. You would be suprised who does it and tells who he knew like I am not so bad to be brutal others were too. This guy is a piece of work and he isn’t fooling anyone but a fool, imo.
Question? for u animal lovers who claim that any loss of animals life is so unbearable, why dont u also protest the humane society which has euthanized (killed, still a dead animal) thousands of animals. If loss of life is that important lets protest vick and the humane society then ur argument will hold some weight. But we all know that won’t happen so get over it.
Hi, Rod.
I think your post would be more appropriately provided at the HSUS site. I’d love to know their response.
Another parroted answer. Try spaying/neutering your pets vato! I would rather see them euthanized than in the hands of dogfighters and white trash who won’t spay/neuter or will abuse them. All you Vick fans are such uneducated parrots!
Many people who feel Michael Vick is getting off way too easy are not supporters of the HSUS, which has a long history of “rescuing” dogs from fighting rings and then euthanizing them.
Of course this is just my opinion:
Only in Philadelphia would so many warped people back this guy. It shows how “different” the black community is. They still believe in “no snichin’”and are giving his cousin crap for dropping a dime on him. McNabb backs him because Vick learned how to “toss salad” in prison and he wants some of it. Reid wants to adopt him to round out his family of felons. Dungy is just looking for someone to save.
