Vick’s First Practice on Eagles Field – Saturday August 15th
Tomorrow will be the first day that Michael Vick is scheduled to practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. Many people were very surprised by the Eagles actions to sign Michael Vick for close to $7 million over two years. That’s a lot to pay for damaged goods, especially when we are talking entertainment paid for with fan money.
Tickets may not go on sale tomorrow so tomorrow won’t be our first serious opportunity to protest the Eagles with our wallets, but it will be a good day to show sponsors that we mean business. So if you show up to the area to protest, make sure you call out the sponsors that support the Eagles. Call on those sponsors to end their sponsorship of the Eagles and Michael Vick.
Please be considerate and do not threaten to harm any person including Michael Vick.
Please also be careful. If you show up, come with a friend, someone that can help keep an eye out for you.
Future Dates To Look For Michael Vick Protests
August 26th is National Dog Day and is less than 2 weeks from today. Please call on all sponsors to end their sponsorship before this day publicly. If they do not end their sponsorship, then August 26th would make a fine day to protest at their locations around the country.

Brett, good post.
I see the Stallworth argument is back again. Oy vey.
A great story from a personal point of view by a journalist — must-read!

This whole ordeal goes to show you how screwed up our society is and how dumb americans are. I’m a vegetarian since birth and I think killing dogs or torturing them is wrong. But in the society we live in its okay to torture other animals we eat? It pisses me off when the same people who eat fish (which are essentially drowned in their own right- taking them out of the water by using bait takes away their ability to respirate), eat chicken that have their heads cut off, and eat cows that are brutally slaughtered in slaughterhouses are so against Vick. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CattleRestrainedForSlaughter.jpg
So I understand why PETA is mad. I am mad but Im giving him a second chance because I did my research and unlike most of you I understand why he did it. In some cultures they grow up fighting pitbulls. Its a hobby. Its wrong, but its the truth. He understands now. And you know waht? Mike Vick probably ALREADY helped and will continue to help raise more awareness to the whole situation than anyone else.
Whats the difference between dogs and these other animals you eat (yes, theyre tortured also)?
Great Point! Although I am not a vegetarian, I love your analogy!
Hi, Your Mom.
I’ll admit your analogy has merit, and thank you for presenting it in a nonconfrontational way – BUT, you must admit that dogs are different in that MAN has domesticated them. They have been bred to be human-centered. They reside in homes and are an integral part of a family.
While I don’t condone any human or animal suffering, there is a considerable difference with what man has done throughout history with canines, in comparison to chickens, cows, etc. We’ve consequently devolved canines into human dependents.
The service dogs provides on a daily basis is immeasurable. In many cases, dogs’ abilities are greater than humans. They serve dutifully in the military and have saved countless troops’ lives. They tirelessly work with crime preventation, physically-challenged humans and are a most valuable option for those unfortunate folks who suffer with depression. They allow those afflicted with blindness to be mobile, and the comfort of a seizure alert dog is immeasurable to those parents whose children are prone to attacks.
So while I somewhat agree with your point, I think canines are truly a different issue.
Respectfully,
Lisa

That is why this site is so important. Thank you Doglover332.
1. Will any of you be protesting Dante Stallworth when he gets reinstated?
2. Did any of you protest Leonard Little when he began playing after killing a woman while driving drunk?
3. Isn’t EVERY prisoner allowed to attempt to rebuild their lives after serving their debt to society? Why should Michael Vick be any different?
4. Why is this site littered with Google ads, and no contact information? Seems to me like purchased a “hot topic” website and filled it with ads to make money from the blind rage of the SHEEPle.
1. We are, check our mission.
2. We are, check our mission page
3. Every prisoner released (legally) from prison is allowed to rebuild their life, but we americans are not required nor forced to support them with our fan money, and many of us will not support them with our fan money whether its direct or indirect through sponsors, the nfl or the Eagles or hosting teams.
4. Frankly, there have been a lot of dangerous people making violent threats on both side of this conversation. So we utilize generic contact information. The google ads help pay for our hosting and bandwidth (cost this year over $500, Google ad revenue for the life of this site less than $100).
We work to filter out all ads for Michael Vick and his gear, but Google is definitely an imperfect advertising company.
What Vick did was NOT a mistake! It was intentional actions that are sick, cruel and twisted. How could anyone be so ignornant as to think it is a “cultural” thing? What “culture” are you referring to when you say that? That is just ignorant to believe that! Those who do not care if he is playing again should not be bothered by those of us who plan to stop using any products or doing business with the companies that sponsor the Philadelphia Eagles. However, it seems they cannot stand the fact that some of us will speak up. Get over it! Deal with it! He’s a piece of crap as a human being!
Are u kidding me? Where did u grow up? Have u ever been outside of your little world? This is a culture on the streets. This has been going on forever and sad to say still happening this very minute. Children are introduced to dog fighting at a very young age. They see there peers, fathers, uncles, mothers, friends etc.. doing this and think its ok cause of this fact. This is the norm all over the country in places like where Vick grew up. Being introduced to something so young and seeing everyone doing it, even police, then of course your going to think its cool & ok. Its just as big as drugs maybe even bigger. Kids living in the hard knocks gotta survive on the streets. There is no oppurtunity like u had. They have to make there own money so they can eat. This is why u have a lot of youth turning to selling drugs. These kids do what they think is normal and selling drugs and dog fighting is normal where they live. You need to get out more.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I grew up in a bad neighborhood, invested with gangs, and from 14 years old I’ve lived on my own. Sleeping in the back of old station wagons, curling up in the corner of an abandoned row home, I was there, I owned a pit and a Rottie growing up, and guess what, I fought them both, but never till the death. We all fought them because it was cool to have the toughest dog, or to try to make a little money. I’m not proud of it, and now at 30 years old I know it was disgusting. But for you to compare people who grew up fighting dogs, to Michael Vick torturing, hanging, drowning, and beating to death dogs is absolutely obscured, I think you need to “get out” and see the world a little pal
Give it a rest people. You guys or girls have nothing else better to do. He has paid his debt to society and now he has a job. Dont watch football if it’s a problem. As a matter of fact sites like these attempt only to keep a person in the “hole” instead of allowing a person to right his/her wrong doings. Are you people against a person earning a living.
I was trying to order one of the anti Eagles shirts on Cafe Press but the link doesn’t work…Please repost!
Thanks for the heads up Kim, Cafe Press has temporarily changed some but not all of our tshirts to a pending status, their department that handles this doesn’t open up for another hour. Will call them then to find out what’s going on w the tshirts.
Let me first say that I am an animal lover and think what Vic has done is dispicable. Is he now reformed? All the right things come out of his mouth but I somehow doubt it.
Should he be playing for the Eagle or any other team? Maybe not but that’s not my choice and it’s not my money. All I can do is choose not to watch or buy the products of Eagles sponsors. That is my initial gut reaction but will I feel this way in three months? Maybe, maybe not.
I do feel that if Vic is on an NFL team that he will be under intense scrutiny and will indeed walk the straight and narrow. He would be a damn fool if he particpates in any way and any type of activity that even hints of animal cruelty.
I also feel that Andy Reid has done an admirable job as head coach and think that attacks on him through his sons are really cheap shots.
The late Irv Homer use to say that all the average Philadelphian cared about was whether or not the Eagles would be televised on Sunday while the government proceeded to rob them blind.
I would hope we would be as concerned with the fact that our treasonous President and his co-conspiritors are destroying this great country as we are with the status of Michael Viks.
Wow. That’s all I can say after visiting this site. I had no idea this existed, but I am very disturbed and disgusted. It shows some people really have too much time on your hands! Just want to say a few things…
1) To the lady in this org that says Vick should “have to work hard on a job like the rest of us”…HA!!! I’d like to see you last through one NFL training camp and season, then revise that statement about what job is “hard”.
2) It’s no wonder the group running this campaign is not at all culturally diverse. I am an African-American male who spent half of my life in a predominately black inner-city area, and half in a predominantly white suburban area. My only reason for bringing this up is that we (black people) know that though it is WRONG WRONG WRONG (I love dogs), dogfighting in the inner-city is a way of life to some. It’s all they know from a child up. No one ever told them it’s wrong. Ever. Perhaps Michael Vick can now be the one to hammer that message home to inner-cities. I honestly don’t think he really knew how bad what he did was at the time.
3) As unforgiving as you all are (and I’m quite sure most of you consider yourselves “Christian”), I sure hope none of you make a huge mistake or fall off of your high horse. Who are we to keep dragging this man through the muck and mire? Vengeance is the Lord’s, not sackvick.net’s. Suppose we all got what we deserve for what we do everyday, big or small (lying, cheating, manipulating, road rage, etc.) Put that in your doggy-bowl and chew on it for a while.
For the record, I run the site, and I am not a member of any religion. But it continues to strike me as very hypocritical for people to state that Michael Vick is best suited to NOW protect animal rights and end dog fighting in the inner city since he was caught red handed, confessed, and spent time in jail.
I do not believe it is representative of all christians by far, but I have to wonder why so many of the pro Michael Vick comments on this site from people that claim to be Christians continually seem to share the belief that only the worst sinner can prevent other sinners from continuing to sin?
Would you believe that Hitler if he were still alive today is the best possible candidate to teach people that genocide is wrong?
As a person of mixed race myself, I personally do not think that a former slave owner would have necessarily been the poster child to stop other slave owners from owning slaves. In fact, we had to fight a civil war of non-slave owners against slave owners just to convince slave owners that viewed slavery as (using ForgivnessAdvocate’s words here) “a way of life to some” is a bad way of life, a flawed way of life, an immoral way of life, a way of life that is so flawed that other people should not have to teach it to you. Even stranger in this crazy analogy of the sinner should be the teacher and that any act can be forgiven if your community, family etc engages in it also, is this concept that ‘no one ever told them it was wrong’.
Well, I’m sorry to call BS on that one, but its illegal, has been illegal for quite some time, and Michael Vick knew it was illegal too. They don’t hide these events away from the law for nothing, they hide away from the public eye and the law, because, they HAVE been told, they KNOW it is illegal, yet they BREAK THE LAW and do it anyway JUST LIKE MIKE.
As to your first comment about Michael Vick surviving in the NFL. I’ve got news for you there. Michael Vick did not survive in the NFL. The job he had int he NFL involved more than just throwing the football or running, it also required of Michael Vick that he must live a relatively decent life, not get in trouble, and not paint the NFL, the Falcons or the sponsors he contracted with in a negative light.
Michael Vick couldn’t hang with that. He wasn’t a good enough of a quarterback nor a person. He started his dog fighting business almost at the same time he started his NFL career. Maybe he did this because he wanted to break the law. Maybe he did this because he thought he was above the law. Maybe he thought he’d never have to answer to anyone or any god for that matter. I suspect he did it because he is just plain sick and couldn’t handle the pressure, which is part (not all) of the reason why we set up this site and do not want to financially support Michael Vick in the NFL anylonger.
I usually try and refrain from posting negative comments on this or any other site, but you sir have a problem! It seems a bit ironic to me that someone who seems so concerned with human decency, is striving awfully hard to kick someone while they’re down.
The fact is that there are a munltitude of cultures in this country, and the lines between them are not defined simply by race. Social status, economic developement levels, religion, poverty and many more ideals and situations help to define cultures within communities. Your bi-racial by no means makes you equipped answer for the culture where Vick grew up, or for all people within your race. I am a black male, but I am in no way the spokesman for all black people. I do not know the trials and tribulations which have groomed you to become the man you are today, but I can speak for myself. I can however speak to a similar circumstance in which I am familiar with. I grew up in a city where dog fighting was prevalent. IT was the norm, and as such until I moved out of that area in the 8th grade I believed it was perfectly ok. Although drugs were prevalent as well, my parents warned me about them and I steered clear. Dog fighting however was never mentioned.
We are the products of the enviroments from which we come. I find it odd that you and others like you have stated repeatedly that he was not remorseful until he got caught and lost everything. Well… Thats what happens! That is the purpose of having a consequence, so that we can learn from that experience. Why would someone think they are making a mistake when they are on top of the world? It sometimes takes losing everything to realize what mistakes you have made. I know that if everyone here looks within themselves, you can find something you have done that you regret. Though I’m sure its not on the same level, its all relative. When I was in high school, I smoked weed. I knew it was wrong, but at the time it was what I wanted to do, and no one could tell me differently. When I think back to those days, I wonder what the hell I was thinking? I put myself in a position to possibly ruin my future. It took a friend of mine getting caught for me to see the error of my ways. I wonder, how many of you have similar stories? Why cant this be that same type of moment for Michael Vick?
I’ve asked this question on this site and others, and have yet to see a reasonable reply, so I pose it to you DogLover332 since you apparently run this site; What do you want from Michael Vick, and what do you propose he do with the rest of his life? It’s a fairly simple question, but one most protesters fall short of answering. Not the usual, “he should spend the rest of his life cleanning kennels” because realisticly thats not going o happen. I’d like to hear what you want this man to do, since obviously you dont want him to do that which he is most capable.?
Just a note, Michael Vick is a college educated adult, ignorance of the law on dog fighting just doesn’t cut it. If he had been an 8th grader running a dog fighting ring as opposed to a 27 year old adult that had run the ring for 6 years with NFL money, I would look at this very differently and might even consider the cultural aspects, but as an adult in the world, he has no excuse.
For me the remorse he shows or does not show is largely irrelevant. I do not want to see Michael Vick grovel or anything remotely like that. He did lie about his involvement for several months after he was caught. As such, I do not trust what he says, then nor now.
So what do I want?
I do not want to see Michael Vick nor any violent felon play in the NFL ever again.
I feel they have voided their privileges(like they voided their contracts) to represent fans and teams and sponsors and the NFL. Let Michael Vick go out and get any other job, start any other legal career he likes.
So you do not want any felons in the NFL? I do not see the correlation between the two. This is a business whose purpose it to win games and make money.

Last time I checked, the NFL and dogs were unrelated. Why would you be outraged? This isnt some severly depraved doctor returning to medicine, or a teacher who slept with a student returning to the classroom. These are completely unrelated. If its about him being a role model, then that a terrible reason too. Children find role models more in their everyday life than on television. Any trust that everyone else in the NFL is not neccessarily role model material.
Reply
We as parents need to do a better job of guiding our children so that they are able to choose appropriate role models. Why do you feel that you should be able to force the NFL to make these people role model material? They are football players! I was fortunate enough to spend two seasons in the NFL and if I were still there, I would love to have Vick on my team, because he is an amazing player, and that is what matters when it comes to any sports franchise in any sport.
You are trying to make the NFL into some sort of good-guy league, when that is not their job. Their job is to put forth competitive games for entertainment purposes only.
Jesus H, you are a child. But keep it up, you have a lot of housewives following your lead, they, like you, who never watched the sport and never supported any of the sponsers are really making headway.
I watched a show where they were discussing this issue, I am paraphrasing but an investigative reporter has been measuring the impact of the signing. basicaly : all indications are the money people, the people that matter, are on board with this. The little people, with websites and petitions are not on board but it is the “important” people with money that matter in this instance and they have given their blessing.
haha, game over leader of the housewife rebellion, hahaha.
To James;
I’m sure Vic was treated like a King and not like the low life that he truly is in the Prison he was sent to. Come to think of it he didn’t spend nearly enough time in prison that he should.have!! LIFE would have been the only answer
Just curious as to where the profits from the Google ads on your site goes to? I would hope that you are donating the money to charity.
We just renewed our server for the year, cost $529.40
Total money made from Google ads since this site was started back in 2007 -> $91.27
We are a long long way from making a profit on this site.
First off, you cannot compare adolf hitler and michael vick to each other. Mass genocide of people and dog fighting are two different things. Second, the man did his time….according to the law in 48 out of the 50 states, district of columbia, puerto rico and the virgin islands, the MAXIMUM sentence is two years, which he would have done if our prison system wasn’t almost full, a fine or both. I am pretty sure the man lost his money, tainted his name, looks like an insensitive, diabolical, p.o.s. to his family and kids AND on top of that did his prison sentence for a felony. If it was you, when you got out of prison you would have been able to resume your career and that is all the man is trying to do. I love dogs, but I also love the eagles and the NFL….I think he is garbage as a person but I think he is a fun football player to watch.
You are entitled to your opinion and may think its fun to watch an ex-felon play a game, but many of us do not and won’t support Michael Vick nor the Eagles and some of us not even the NFL any more with our money.
I admit that the scale of the crime between Hitler and Michael Vick is substantial, very very substantial, but the point is not comparing the crime but comparing the fact that a criminal is not the best person to teach other criminals to stop committing crime.
On a similar note, I would not ask Charles Manson to set an example for other psychotics or Dick Cheney to set an example for transparency or Bernie Maddoff to teach financial managers how to run a legitimate business (even if any of these people had finished their time in jail).
There’s a lot of other inaccuracies about your assumptions, but I take your point.
You have a great site here
I would like to have a button or banner to your site
preferably a small button that I can put on some sites I own and have others put on their sites to link to yours…do you have such a button?
I also am trying to get a quick list of some of the sponsors so that people do not have to hunt around to email or call them..some of them make it difficult
feel free to contact/email me…I would like to help
I think Vick is a subhuman piece of trash…the National Felony League should be ashamed for so many reasons, especially Vick.
Wow, I don’t know how you can condense it unless you put it on the fridge.
They’re just dogs! I probably had some in my chinese food last night. big deal. They are animals, no different than cows which most of you im sure eat regularly. Yeah they can sit, play dead, find dope, and whatever else, but whose to say a cow cant? ever try? Get over it, they are frickin dogs!
4 people showed up to protest. 4 fu*king people. Man, this grass roots campaign is really taking off now. Idiots.
Joe,
Actually it was reported on comcast sportsnet in Philly that there were ZERO protesters today. One guy made a crack that they all went to the shore because it was hot. The “outrage” is over, the housewives have returned to their homes to do wash and plan their next cause. There are rumblings that they are going to protest the “Splendor” level in the Duncan Hines brownies.
MMMMMMM. DOG
Wow, you told us, Lovin It! I shouldn’t be so critical. Afterall, literacy begins with one word at a time. Tomorrow let’s practice with the word “Cat”.
HAHAHAHA!
Lisa,
Are the dishes done?
Awww, Rich – Seriously, this did make me laugh!
Good that is what I was going for. Good luck with everything. I have had my fun here, adios.
I am really excited and delighted that the nice lady at Tastycake seems to take this seriously.
She told me that the company was “blindsided” by the stupid decision of Eagles to hire the Monster Vick!
She said they were really upset…and trying to figure what to do…I suggested that the first company to stand up and withdraw from the Eagles will get a lot of GOOD publicity….she said she would pass that on.
I think Tastycake is really against Vick…they seem to be good people and open to listening to us..
Please send some kind wishes and support their way and encourage them to “do the right thing” and drop the Eagles!!
Please join me in calling the good folks at Tastycake…
encourage them to “do the right thing”

It’s funny that I don’t see a website up protesting Rams’ defensive end Leonard Little playing in the NFL.
But it’s no big deal. He just killed a human. And Browns’ wide receiver Donte Stallworth gets very little press after he killed a person this offseason.
And who cares that Broncos’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall beats women and gets away with it?
Of course what Vick did was wrong. But a ton of guys in the NFL have done worse things.
My problem is that animal lovers make animals more important than humans.
if you care at all about Little, Stallworth, and Marshall being in the N.F.L. and you don’t see a web site then why don’t you start one. If you don’t care then why say anything
Hi Jason…I think they all should be thrown out.
National Felony League..it is a disgrace
I have been following the case of the drunk driver jerk
and that is simply disgusting. Seems the family of the victim took a nice payoff there.
I also have little respect for MLB…I think that most “records” there are bogus, the result of steroids.
If you hsve a petition I can sign against these other jerks I will be happy to sign it. IN the meantime, I think Vick is a subhuman monster. He served his time, fine, let him out of jail, ok, but he should NOT be in the NFL
There are a couple sites out there that chart the sad course of professional athletes and their legal and moral troubles…it is mind boggling.
I hope you will join us in protesting Monster Vick too..thanks
Right on Esty!
The only reason the Philadelphia team signed Vick is because he learned how to “toss salad” in Levenworth. Now McNabb, Reid, and Dungy are enjoying his talents.
The Philadephia Tossed Salads will never win a Super Bowl!
“In or about April 2007, (Purnell) Peace, (Quanis) Phillips and Vick executed approximately eight dogs that did not perform well in ‘testing’ sessions by various methods including hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog’s body to the ground.”
People,
He HASN’T served his time. He’s still on probation with the State of Virgina.
FYI – If you’re going to the Eagles Stadium to protest then you can park for FREE at FDR Park (located at Broad and Pattison Ave). It is a public park and they cannot charge you unless you are going to the game. They will try their best to get you to pay, but just let them know you are going to the park. Hope to see a big turn out.
