Vick’s First Practice on Eagles Field – Saturday August 15th
Tomorrow will be the first day that Michael Vick is scheduled to practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. Many people were very surprised by the Eagles actions to sign Michael Vick for close to $7 million over two years. That’s a lot to pay for damaged goods, especially when we are talking entertainment paid for with fan money.
Tickets may not go on sale tomorrow so tomorrow won’t be our first serious opportunity to protest the Eagles with our wallets, but it will be a good day to show sponsors that we mean business. So if you show up to the area to protest, make sure you call out the sponsors that support the Eagles. Call on those sponsors to end their sponsorship of the Eagles and Michael Vick.
Please be considerate and do not threaten to harm any person including Michael Vick.
Please also be careful. If you show up, come with a friend, someone that can help keep an eye out for you.

August 26th is National Dog Day and is less than 2 weeks from today. Please call on all sponsors to end their sponsorship before this day publicly. If they do not end their sponsorship, then August 26th would make a fine day to protest at their locations around the country.

There is something seriously wrong with you people! Although there is absolutely no excuse for what Michael Vick did, but he has in fact paid his debt to society. Who are you all to say that he can no longer pursue his dreams? Though I am an avid animal enthusiast and despise the manner in which these animals were treated, at the end of the day ask yourselves; What punishment is enough? What job would it be acceptable for him to perform in your eyes? Would you allow him to work for you? How much is enough? Ask your selves these questions and then ask are your responses realistic?
I understand the hurt, anger, and frustration of all those who care deeply for animals as I do, but how much is enough? What do you propose he do with the rest of his life? The fact is, that football is his chosen profession. As long as he can still perform at an elite level, he should be allowed to do so.
As I sit and watch the coverage of protesters flaunting anti-Vick apparell and chanting vigorously, I wonder how many of you call yourselves Christians? I would bet a great number of you do, yet you forget one of the Bible’s most telling lessons; Yet he who is without sin, cast the first stone…
And protest? Really? The NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry. Do you really think the loss of, lets say for your sake optimisticly, 50 million dollars is going to change a thing? Be honest with yourselves, as many fans stop watching because of Michael Vick’s past, more will watch because of his future!

I am so pulling for Michael Vick! He made a big mistake (who hasn’t), intentionally (who hasn’t), paid a high price (TWO YEARS in prison), and IT IS DONE AND OVER WITH. As a bonus, he has been incredibly humble, contrite, and willing to go the extra mile to get back in the NFL and care about the sensitivities of his unrighteous judges out there (and here on this website). Nobody has any right to demand a lifelong penance from him, for him to be a SPCA advocate, etc, etc. It’s time to leave him alone and let him move past this. Only God is qualified to judge Michael Vick. The rest of us, we fall into two classes: those who know they’re every bit as guilty as Michael in other ways, and those who are but don’t know it or can’t face it. Put down your stones.

You know, not many people get the chance to hit it big in life. Michael Vick blew it. Let him get a job like the rest of us. Maybe if players realized the kind of priveledged status they have, some would stop killing, raping and torturing animals. If you found out your banker, or doctor, or lawyer had been convicted of these crimes, would you find someone else? I bet you would. We dont always get second chances, especially when it comes to getting ahold of the elusive brass ring. I dont expect him to retire to a monestary, but as far as I am concerned, he’s lost the right to having the priveledges that come with being a professional NFL player. And what kind of message does this send kids? That a stay in the slammer and an apology and you can still end up a MILLIONAIRE?
If the goal of our correctional system is to rehabilitate, then why don’t we let it do just that? What message does it send to our kind when we continue to persecute someone who has done everything asked of him in paying the consequences of his actions? So is it just the NFL that you have a problem with, or should he not be able to have a job where he makes good money? Do you feel that way about anyone who has a criminal background? They should be subjected to a life of mediocrity because of past mistakes? Have none of you ever made a mistake? Sure not on the same level as the Vick situation, but a mistake none the less. If you learn from that mistake, I mean truly learn from it, shouldn’t you be given a second chance? I pretty sure if I lost everything I had, my wealth, reputation, and freedom, I’d learn my lesson. Just remember that we all have skeletons in our closet.

I breathe a sigh of relief that Eagle’s sponsors don’t have to deal with you anymore. While we’re at it, we should contact our local politicians to make sure ex-cons absolutely cannot go back to working at their careers before they were in jail. Once again as I have posted before, Vick admitted to having fighting dogs from the age of 8. This was 22 years of torture. Not just a few dogs.
I do have a uncle that abused dogs AND his kids – the law never did a thing about it, even when people called to report him. He is now a preacher at a local church – it took YEARS for him to PROVE himself to his family. Vick has not had to prove anything – he has so far done nothing to make up for his so called “mistake” (planning murder every day you run a dog fighting ring is a honest mistake now).
He has worked with the HSUS … great, it’s part of his probation.

We are not trying to destroy Michael Vick. He needs no help in that department, he’s perfectly capable of destroying everything he touches regardless of the pain he causes to others.
We are simply working to insure that we are not used as unwitting accomplices in Michael Vick’s actions, or any other violent felon.
I’m not a christian, never claimed I was. But in all the religions I have ever studied, I have never heard of a religion that called on good people to support evil people.
You can fool yourself into thinking that our site is organized around the concept of harming Michael Vick, but you will be a fool none the less. We are simply organized to insure that no further harm comes from Michael Vick nor contributes to instigating others to harm people.
If you want your kids growing up idolizing Michael Vick, if you want them to cheer for someone that killed dogs for years for fun, if you want your kids to support someone like that, that is your choice but this site and this movement was built around the concept that anyone that doesn’t want their kids influenced by a professional dog torturer could work together to block that negative influence from our society in a sport that is given a glamorized pedestal on any given Sunday.
If you want to close out a prayer to god over the concept of supporting a person that enjoyed killing and torturing dogs and paying his friends and family to join in the sick fun, then I think you might be wasting your spiritual efforts.
Last I checked the christian bible doesn’t say anything about promoting dog fights, sponsoring dog fights with drug dealers, or taking part in killing dogs for personal enjoyment. If anything that almost sounds like something that would be preached against as satanic.

Honesly you make me sad. Let me see if I can put this more clearly. Micheal Vick did horrible things to dogs for many years, horrible horrible things. There is no arguing that, so you’re right. Such a crime is not easily forgivable nor should it be. Thats why he went to a federal prison for two years. People still have every single right to be upset with him, you dont have to be in love with the guy.

I understand displeasurement of Michael Vick returning to the NFL but what is the point of boycotting? Your efforts will bring you nothing to show for. The humane society needs this guy to help them advocate their beliefs. One of the conditions of him playing with the eagles is being a big part of community in helping with dogfighting and animal problems. Boycotting this will just be a waste of time and bring more harm then good.

The humane society has repeatily said that they are backing Michael Vick. Having someone of michael vick’s stature and of his experience be an ambassador for the humane society helps them significantly. More kids in Philadelphia will listen to this man than most other people. Like he said he can be part of the solution. Your arguement talks about the death of people. It is no where close comparable. To me it seems like this isn’t about dogfighting or the cruelty animals but your hatred towards to the nfl and your ways to bring it down. Only using Vick and this website as a scapegoat to release your hate towards the NFL. I feel sad for a kid whose mom or dads are boycotting the NFL as he cannot grow up watching football and loving a great sport. Just because a sport has former criminals(which just about every sport does) does not mean the whole league should be damned. There are so many feel good stories in NFL, which gives kids the chance to dream and try to reach for the stars, which makes it so great. You may hate the NFL but so many more love it.

Everyone who worries about Vick and wants to protest him should just get over it. He did his time in jail. He did his 2 years which is much more than Dante Stallworth got FOR KILLING A HUMAN! Worthy and valid? You must be kidding. Vick has served his time. It’s not like the NFL is reinstating him while he continues to host dog fighting. This campaign against him is long and drawn out, especially since animal rights activists are just using a celebrity to bash simply because its easy. Did you know cockfighting is still legal in Puerto Rico along with other countries around the world? Sure its illegal in the States but you wouldn’t care about it anywhere else in the world because it’s too difficult to stop. But it’s easy to attack someone who’s famous. Oh and me donating a dollar to a DUI foundation is more worthy than complaining about something that happened 3 years ago and was already taken care of. Everyone deserves another shot, especially after 2 years in prison.
