What are the Best Ways to Protest The Philadelphia Eagles, Michael Vick & Other Violent Felons in the NFL?
Since the NFL and especially the Philadelphia Eagles made the unfortunate decision to allow Michael Vick back into the NFL where he will likely play his first football game in over 2 years the day after National Dog Day, we have received some novel examples of ways to protest, boycott and share our displeasure with the NFL.
We would like to open a dialogue with everyone and brainstorm on ways to do this better, and more effectively. We want to cover the spectrum of potential ways to achieve our goal of removing violent felons from a fan money funded NFL. That said, we do not want to cause or inflict violence or harm on any person, nor do we want to put potential fans in harms ways by their potential protest actions. So first lets have a brainstorm on the potential ways of boycotting the NFL and or the Philadelphia Eagles.
Different people have different levels of commitment for this cause. Some of use are engaging in a total boycott of everything related to the NFL or that sponsors the NFL. Others are boycotting the Philadelphia Eagles and or their sponsors. Some are simply boycotting anything related to the violent felons still playing in the NFL today.
We want to identify all the potential ways of maximizing our efforts across that entire spectrum so that anyone that wants to participate can do so in a way that fits in with their own perspective and goals.
To kick things off here are 9 ways to boycott or protest Michael Vick & Violent Felons in the NFL
- The easiest thing you can do is to leave your comments here on SackVick and other similar sites. Each comment you make generates a new web page, which help fills up the internet a little bit more with more perspective and views on fans against felons in the NFL.
- If you have a site of your own, link to our site or to an article. Drop me a comment with a link to your site pointing at SackVick and I will add you to one of our blogrolls of animal loving sites, fans against felons or general supporters.
- Our site has been around for over 2 years and we are heavily indexed across the internet but every little bit helps and if we can help you in return for your support with a link back, we’re more than happy to reciprocate.
- Include a badge on your site or in a blog article if you like
Here are some different sizes - Contact sponsors of the NFL and The Eagles and call for them to remove their sponsorship until violent felons are removed
- contact them by mail
- contact them by email
- contact them by twitter and other social networks
- contact them by communications channels,
- contact them on blogs
- contact them by employee email
- Write blog articles highlighting the transgressions of felons and where possible putting sponsor logos or products next to pictures of the crimes
- Most sponsors that sponsor the Eagles do not want to see their products next to images like those of Michael Vick’s dogs after he fought them, brutalized them or killed them
- If they don’t want their brand next to images like these, then they need to remove their sponsorship or experience the synergy of their sponsorship of a brand such as the brand that is Michael Vick for example
- Sports bars across the country both in and out of Philadelphia have stopped serving miller and coors products. Many people at first see this as something that is bad for business, but today there are hundreds of other beer options out there, especially considering micro brews which can be more profitable even for a bar owner to serve. Boycotting these Eagles sponsored products can be good for raising attention, good for getting free press, and good for the bottom line
- Some sports bars are also refusing to play any game with the Philadelphia Eagles in their establishment. This could be tougher on the bottom line, but will sure get people in the bar talking about the situation. Sometimes its better for a bar to have its patrons talking (and drinking) than it is for them to be passively sitting on a bar stool watching a game. That goes double if the bar finds some way to flip that attention towards some other activity.
- Philadelphia Season ticket holders are planning to engage in a tailgate protest at Philadelphia games. They will show up with their tickets, park and tailgate and protest Michael Vick. The coup in this effort is that they are going to sell their tickets to people from the opposing team, hoping to displace the home field advantage for the Philadelphia Eagles until Michael Vick is removed from the team.
- On a personal level, don’t watch any Eagles games, or escalate that to not watching any Fox broadcast NFC East telecasts, or if you are in it all the way, don’t watch any NFL games at all this season!
- If you do watch games, take note of the companies that are running commercials during Eagles games and send them a protest letter, email, etc .
- Protest on National Dog Day – If you are in the Philadelphia area, protest the Eagles on Wednesday August 26th – National Dog Day and on Thursday August 27th, the first day that Michael Vick is likely to play again in the NFL. If you are at the game don’t wear any Eagles colors, bring protest signs and signs that include images of the dogs that Michael Vick fought or killed. If you do not go into the game, bring your dogs to protest the event outside. Howl and wail like a dog in pain every time the Eagles have possession of the ball.
What would you add to this list . . . .

Thanks Rick! We’ll take your help in whatever form you choose to offer it.
Yea having a million comments will make roger goodell ban all players who commit a crime. Come on there is no cause lol
Its not the total comments that do anything but more comments do present our cause further and deeper across the internet.
For example if you google the terms
michael vick lying
a comment from a pro michael vick supporter now bring up an article from our site in the 8th position on google.
http://www.sackvick.net/2009/08/13/eagles-ask-for-boycott-get-boycott-over-michael-vick/?cid=1769
Our good friend (and detractor) Rich helped us get that placement.
and that really doesn’t help bring felons out of the NFL….lol. And please stop saying this is a cause, this is not a cause your just dumb enough to think vick’s life and any other profressional athlete’s life affects yours.
sorry about that lack of spell check thing on the site. But people that run dog fighting rings, which get people in my state killed does have a bit of an ‘effect’ on me.
Letting a person that likes to kill dogs run unchecked throughout society, could also have an effect on me, and I am not the type of person to ignore it.
I realize you don’t care much about what happens in society and would rather waste your time on a site that you think is stupid.
Its a free country, do what you like. Spend your money and your time how you like.
That’s what I’m doing. In this case I’m spending my time and money getting messages out that I think are important and I’m not spending any money supporting the NFL or its current sponsors.
I think the NFL should step up and NOT hire felons! Background checks should be conducted on every hire for every position. It should also cover prior to age 18 too! After all, any organization serving children are required to complete background checks. Children do attend games, don’t they?
I love how vick’s crime is always refered to as a “mistake” by his supporters. To me a mistake is not paying attention, running a stop sign and rear ending someone. Vicks been repeating his “mistake” since the early 90’s according to his own family. That’s a hell of a lot of mistakes! Myself, I call it a pattern of criminal behavior. I can forgive a mistake once, even twice, three times, it is no longer a mistake and sorry you’re out. Vicks fans defend him so staunchly but, I think the picture of him flipping fans the double bird says it all concerning his loyalty to fans. Yes, I know, just another “mistake”. So far, I’ve heard every excuse for Vick – the race card, the poor boy card, you name it. Maybe he did it because his raging case of herpes put him in a very bad mood. Maybe, it wasn’t even him, maybe it was Ron Mexico.
Number 22 on the honor roll of the MHR and another poor fellow whose dinner will be late this evening, (sigh).
Most people don’t invest six years of their life and tens of thousands of dollars in salaries, buildings, equipment, staking the prize purse etc because of a mistake.
Mistakes don’t happen like that, he broke the law over and over again on purpose, lied about it, and did everything he could to cover it up.
there are anti vick protests on sept 13th check it out http://www.stopmichaelvick.com
The Eagles without Michael Vick are playing in Charlotte on the 13th I believe. Not sure if that is relevant for that date or not. I couldn’t get the site to load when I tried it.
Here is a suggestion go find a better thing to do. Find a hobby and stop having gay boycotts. I hope there are protest at the game can not wait to see you losers people in person. Go eagles.
people are still getting unchecked throughout society for killing dogs. People die everyday in your state. I care about important things in society, michael vick is not an important part of society. And i wouldn’t talk about wasting time, you have wasted two years on this website. But hey as i can tell by your posts and the lack of knowledge you have on the NFL and the whole situation your probably either a little kid or mentally retarded.
Well thank you for spending so much time so effectively debating your beliefs with me.
Let me know when you want to take a shot at the bonus round!
How about leaving insults to people who have intellectual disabilities out of your language? That’s as insulting to them as using the “n” word to a person of color.
As for Vick, he tortured and killed dogs for fun and profit. He does not deserve to be rewarded for that with a seven figure NFL contract. I would say the same if he was a wife beater, granny basher, or baby shaker.
Making fun of people with mental disabilities really makes you a big man, doesn’t it. I think you are a little man starved for attention who comes to this site because you know your comments will evoke a reaction and that’s probably the only way you can get anyone to respond to you
Thanks for staying on top things. It sounds like Vick is already having a hard time keeping his nose clean. Hopefully he will self destruct!
I have a page on my pet sitting website about the boycott with a link to this site. I’ve also added one of your banner links for a little more impact. The page is at:
http://www.whitehall-michigan-pet-sitting.com/michael-vick-dogs.html
Love the idea of bars boycotting the game and the sponsors. What a great way to get some attention.
Thanks for the link, just added you to the blogroll
Thanks.
Have you seen the new initiative by an animal advocate group called Dogpac? They are putting through a petition and letters to the Eagles demanding that they donate an amount equivalent to Vick’s salary to animal shelters.
Here’s an article on it:
http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/pets/Animal_advocates_call_on_Eagles_to_match_Vicks_salary_in_shelter_donations.html
I think their hearts are in the right place but ultimately it destroys everything we’re trying to say. The HSUS already sold out buy I think integrity should never be for sale, so I cannot support their idea in any way.
Of course if the Eagles/NFL sack Vick and then donate his salary I will definitely applaud them!
I think Vick will inevitably self-destruct. He spent two years in rehab to come out and drink in public. He spit in the face of that program right off. i guarantee you if dogfighting was legal, he would be walking around with pitbulls AND a drink in his hand. He hasn’t changed. a recovering addict/alcoholic with supposedly two years of recovery has humility. He has NO humility. he is only doing what he is forced to do. He doesn’t give a damn about that anti-dogfighting program. If he did he would be speaking to juvenile prisons, etc. or schools with a reputation for gang activity. He is still into his street image. he proved this with the video”Thug motivation” that he shot with Young Jeezy a month after release. A changed man doesn’t run out and shoot videos with rappers in trouble with the law and carry drinks in their hand!
Really i would rather Vick prove us all wrong and succeed and be this great animal rights advocate, etc. Because when Vick fails, dogs suffer. And they don’t deserve it.
I agree completely that he will self-destruct but I hope he doesn’t do too much collateral damage to others before that happens.
As an article posted in the Urban Daily said, “Whether he’s first, second or third on the depth chart or solely the Wildcat quarterback, Vick will have incredible influence over a locker room filled with 30 to 40 young African-American players.
“How will he use that influence? Where will he lead? To the strip club? To the kennel? To Young Jeezy’s house for a Thug Motivation party?”
Vick is yesterday’s trash. He will hang himself(not funny, but true), he cannot help himself. He is a narcissist and a sociopath…they don’t do well, and oh yeah, not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Once again, you can take the man out of the ghetto, but not the ghetto out of the man!
The EAGLES met with various organizations yesterday, but you won’t report on that will you?
The Eagles asked to meet with more than 20 animal welfare groups because no Philadelphia organizations have been willing to give Vick the platform they desire.
I’ll believe the Eagles and Vick are sincere about wanting to make a difference when I hear a report on the two-hour meeting from someone I respect like Bill Smith of Main Line Rescue, who played a major role in getting kennel reform legislation through in Pennsylvania.
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20090825_ap_eaglesmeetwithanimalrightsgroups.html?text=reg&c=y
It would seem that the Eagles had a nice quiet meeting. The only person of substance that showed up was the local Philadelphia district attorney who prosecutes dog fighting rings. From his account, it seems he gave the Eagles a nice eye opening description of the drugs, guns, gang members and others that usually take part in dog fighting rings.
The fact that the Eagles didn’t have say an open town hall, didn’t publicize or mention the event before hand, etc speaks volumes to the fact that this failed to generate results that were helpful for the Eagles PR campaign and if anything they learned a thing or two about just how bad Michael Vick really is.
BTW the Philly DA you are referring to is not a man but a woman, Lynne Abraham. What other facts do you have wrong? hmmm…
Thanks for the correction Rich, if it weren’t for supporters like you we might miss some of these little mistakes.
FINALLY..someone else with a brain on here..Good points Max. Vick IS sincere and ready to help. BUT the losers of this website want to start trouble.
rcaines@sccoast.net
It is funny isn’t it? Everyone claims to want to help dogs but will not sit down with a guy they do not like to help dogs. I guess it is not really about helping dogs is it?
To me, if my goal in life was to erradicate the “sport” of dog fighting I would work with anyone to get it done, regardless of my personal feelings.
Lots of people want to stop cult killing as well, but that doesn’t mean they want to sit down and chat about it with Charles Manson.
Michael Vick epitomizes the worst example of someone that took dog fighting to a new extreme financially.
Its not really funny at all, its pretty simple.
The same type of issue presents itself in international politics all the time. As a country we do not want to give North Korea a larger platform by having unilateral talks with them. Similarly, the US has had a policy of avoiding public negotiations with terrorists. To talk with them as if they are important, increases the public perception of their importance and legitimizes them.
Michael Vick is not a legitimate nor important force in ending dog fighting. He’s just the opposite a major financial force and example that contributed to its growth.
You are brutal with your parallels, every other post by you is “if Charls Manson…, or If Adolf Hitler….” Try to make your points stand on their own merits. The constant drawing of parallels, (that they are not really parallel is beside the point), appears as if you cannot communicate your point effectively.
Time will tell but I am positive that Mike Vick will do more to erradicate dog fighting than all the petition signers on here stacked on top of each other.
well Rich as they say the truth hurts.
Some people just can’t seem to grasp the fundamentals of history and human nature without expressing things at one end of the spectrum or the other. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not criticizing you for failing to grasp the fundamentals. As I’ve stated before, we disagree. I’m not trying to win you over. But I write each comment to complete the argument for each visitor that might happen into our website through one of your comments.
Admittedly, the discussion gets a little repetitive, but I’m not really speaking directly to you, a person whom I view as someone that I’ll agree to disagree with, but instead to all the people that will find our site through your efforts.
You raise the questions and arguments that will attract people of a similar perspective, and then I close down that argument and provide the solution for that line of thinking.
Oh no! what was I thinking? Because I posted this three more housewives from Nebraska will sign a petition, oh the horror.
BTW the “you guys who do not agree with us are helping us” does not hold much water. I guess some segment of the like minded will buy it, oh well.
PS effective communication would be the ability to grasp ideas without using “exagerrated examples” such as your Hitler and Manson examples. You can pretend that people like myself who disagree do not “grasp the fundamentals” but in fact I can see through the diatribes and exagerrations for what they are.
Are you making any money off this thing at least?
I don’t see it as an exaggeration. Just a different scale.
“The only person of substance that showed up was the local Philadelphia district attorney who prosecutes dog fighting rings”
WTF are you talking about..local animal welfare groups were there..PSPCA..Delco/Chesco SPCA..and PAWS were all there amoung others..
Get your facts straight before you post this garbage.
Dog lover..why don’t you go and read this.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4420925
Read it, now you read this. As one reporter asked Jeffrey Lurie, “If this had happened to your dog, would we even be having this conversation”
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/columnists/20090816_Gonzo___Vick_controversy_just_beginning_for_Eagles.html
I think this quote from the article sums up my own perspective that this will be a long and protracted seige
Then this seems to point out why many people think the Eagles made a mistake with Vick as we see this not as Vick’s ’second’ chance but his chance numbering somewhere over 1900th or so…
Max, but according to doggie lover..this never happened.
You didn’t read the story I linked to because it was about a press conference with the owner of the Eagles, not the damage control meeting the Eagles held Monday night, one which Jeffrey Lurie didn’t attend
This is a report on Monday’s meeting

BIG FAIL sackvick.net!!! hahaha how about you go after this person!
As awful as that story is, she, unlike Vick, made a horrible mistake. However she did not intentionally torture and kill her dog
You are truly grasping at straws now. First, we are not associated with the Virginia SPCA. Second, there is a big difference between an accident and choosing to walk out your back door and kill a dog every day.
You chose to buy your German Shepard some clothes, but you didn’t wake up electrocute your German Shepard today. There’s a big difference between you and Michael Vick, just like there is a big difference between the head of the VA SPCA and Michael Vick.
Regardless, I do appreciate you sharing the link with us. It definitely helps the site!
Will she get a second chance or even get charged?
You don’t see the difference between a story in which a woman’s husband put their pet into their car and forgot to tell her and Michael Vick intentionally hanging, drowning and electrocuting dogs because they weren’t tough enough?
Of course you do, you just want to use this tragedy to rail against those of us who think Michael Vick and all other violent felons should be banned from the NFL for life
It’s like the difference between manslaughter and premeditated murder
http://www2.timesdispatch.com/rtd/news/local/article/SPCAGAT26_20090826-103602/288398/
I don’t know the law for Virginia as it relates to this type of situation. If it the facts start to reveal something more dire, ergo lets say that she was involved in a cover up and she had just returned from a dog fighting ring with her dog, and was planning on taking the dog home to beat it with her bare hands and then electrocute it (you know the typical day in Michael Vick’s life before he went to prison), then we definitely might take up a cause.
We would not do it on this site as this site is not designed to fight dog fighting nor animal cruelty, but instead to stop the injustice of one person that engaged in dog fighting and animal cruelty. The site has since grown to include violent felons in the NFL.
There are many other great sites already committed to tackling animal cruelty. If they drop the ball, we might look into this.
If it is a situation that you feels merits the attention, I’d encourage you to go set up your own site. I’ve given the tools necessary to do this on each page of this site.
It is very easy to do, and I suspect that you have the tenacity to pull it off. If you do, please let us know by dropping a link back to us and we will definitely stay tuned.
I’ve suggested to you before that if you ARE REALLY serious about defending Michael Vick or in this case looking further into this situation, or even if you were REALLY SERIOUS about rebutting this site, you would PUT YOUR MONEY where your mouth is and set up a website to do that.
If you build a site, you could then write entire articles attacking us as much as you pleased. Those articles if linked to the articles I’ve written, would show up in the comment thread below my articles and all of the readers here could see it.
Given the fact that you have not really taken any action yet, I suspect (as I have stated already) that you are grasping at straws looking to find a way to defend Michael Vick’s sinister actions by offering examples as shallow as this one.
Yet ANOTHER reason to hate Vick fans. To compare a REAL accident like this to him just shows more stupidity on their part. Anyway who cares for a dog 16 years like a baby would never leave it in a hot car on purpose.
Vick fans are such a charming bunch. I’ve been stalked on the internet by them. they have told me how they wish I AND my family are repeatedly raped and killed, that my kids and my parents die slow deaths and ALL because I wanted Vick punished?
Get a GRIP! He is a FOOTBALL player. He isn’t a man of God!
No I’m not going to build a site. I will be too busy following my team. I’m just saying he deserves a second chance, and he is getting one whether you like it or not.
That’s cool. You are always welcome here, but I wouldn’t want for you to feel like you left a stone unturned if we are successful and get Michael Vick booted from the NFL.
haha thanks for the welcome..but he’ll never get booted from the NFL unless he does something else wrong.
I do not doubt that Michael Vick will live up to that expectation at all.
I hope Michael gets [edit injured -> We do not condone violence against Michael Vick on this website, Even though his acts were extremely violent and caused physical harm for both dogs and people due to his direct and indirect actions.]
you have a sick mind.
While I don’t agree with those sentiments, I understand them. And a truly sick mind would have wished he was [edit injured -> We do not condone violence against Michael Vick on this website, Even though his acts were extremely violent and caused physical harm for both dogs and people due to his direct and indirect actions. We do not even condone acts of violence against Michael Vick which he did commit on other living creatures.]
I dropped DirecTV’s NFL ticket and expressed the reasons to them. I have made a concerted effort not to buy any of the products from sponsors and have written to them as well. I also wrote to our local grocery store.
It’s really difficult to get people involved beyond saying oh, it’s a terrible thing. I don’t think my one person boycott will do much but at least it’s a start.
I do visit your site every day and sure hope it’s making a difference. I applaud you for trying to keep this issue front and center.
Small potatoes, DirecTV does not even know you are gone. As for your local grocery store that is great, make sure everyone boycotts them, maybe you can put some people out of a job because you have a [edit - I was momentarily distracted and wrote something about a sexual fantasy that haunts me].
Individually some of us have large opportunities to make a difference. Collectively our small opportunities have impact to, but the results are not easy to measure.
But at the end of the day, you will know that you took a stand for something you believe in, which builds more confidence for actions in the future. That confidence and practice might even help you identify and seize a larger opportunity if it presents itself.
Not really. hey I have taken a look at the replies for the past week. It appears that you have about 25 people posting on here. small potatoes, the only difference is that dopey is trying to put her local ma and pa grocery store out of business. wow, what a confidence builder!
So you never answered me, how much money are you making off these gullable people?
You fail to state the truth Rich. I have responded every single time.
Our Hosting costs for this year alone were over $500. In past years that cost was slightly higher coming in at $600 per year (we got a better deal this year). To date, we have spent approximately $1700 on hosting. Paid out in cash not just accrued.
Over that same time, we have received just over $125 from ads on the site(that’s revenue not payments received which are still pending). We have tentative revenue from t-shirts (not something we are very good at) of approximately $50. This revenue has not yet been realized in an actual payment.
I do not believe this site will break even. We do not charge for membership, and do not intend to charge for membership. This is not a profit seeking venture.
I totally agree well said these people but what i think it is though realtalk is the natural connect we have with dog as a race. White really loves there dogs and kiss them and let them sleep in the bed and [edit act of bestiality that I dream about sometimes]. Black people while they do love dogs put dogs in their proper perceptive: THERE JUST DOGS. i totally agree with Tracy GET THE [edit - sexual act my parents participated in to conceive me] OVER IT.
Claiming that all white people enjoy bestiality or practice it with dogs is racist.
Y cant u [EDIT people that make love like my parents] just let him be. I believe yall just hate him cuz he is black and are just using this dog fighting for and excuse to hate on a [EDIT racist word]. U people make me sick the man paid his debut to society and did his time. WHAT ELSE DO U WANT HIM 2 DO. The man is trying 2 redeem himself and live his life. He trying to find the lord and generally tryin to live a better life. U know in the bible it says to forgive your fellow man and all you people that still want 2 hold grudges against this man for what he did are just wrong and u know it. It aint like he killed yo dogs. And what you people fail to realize is he is human and he made a mistake and not in any way im condoling it I love dogs as much as the next person but enough is enough. Just let it go he said he was sorry and he is making great efforts to prevent this terrible act from happening again. Just get over it and stop bein haters. Everybody has done something they regret in their life and just answer this would u like to be forgivin or would u like somebody 2 keep bringing up shit dat happen 2 or 3 years ago? Exactly GET OVER IT.
Michael Vick has not paid his debt to society. Society locked him up to stop his criminal behavior of killing dogs, running a multi state gambling ring that involved drug dealers and of which one of Vick’s partners was murdered.
Michael Vick has not yet paid his debt to creditors, partners, the NFL, the Falcons, sponsors that supported him, nor the Fans that paid all of the above (not counting creditors). Michael Vick lived at tax payer expense on top of all that for the last 2 years.
He has done nothing to improve society since getting out of prison and has done nothing to help those whom he paid and encouraged to participate in his illegal activities. He’s as bad if not worse than a crack pusher, and has currently only made efforts to reclaim his fame and fortune resulting from fame.
That same fame and fortune were previously the weapons that he used to commit his crimes. Our actions and efforts have nothing to do with race and everything to do with preventing a violent criminal from regaining the weapons he used to commit crimes with for 6 years without hardly a break.
Separately, if you use the N word on this site again, you will be banned from this site.
Playing the race card with the Vick case won’t work.
If a white commentator said the atrocities Michael Vick committed should be forgotten because it’s his cultural conditioning and that one would expect African-Americans to torture and electrocute dogs, you and the NAACP would scream bigotry and you’d be right.
It is racist to expect less of a human being because of his color
I totally agree. Wat i think it is though is black and white people just see dogs different. White people REALLY loves these dogs and let them eat on their place and kiss them and let them sleep on the bed and [edit - perform acts of bestiality]. Black people (while we do love dogs) put these things in their proper prospective: THEY ARE JUST DOGS. I totally agree like i said before GET THE [EDIT sexual act that my parents used to create me] OVER IT.
Tracy both yourself and Vicksdaman have hit the nail on the head. I have noticed an undercurrent of hatred for african americans since I came on here. The guy starting this site mentions all the time about “getting felons” out of the NFL but never uses any white people as examples. I think that if you notified your local NAACP chapter they would take the time to see what is written on this site. Though they will attempt to clean it up it still bleeds through.
peace.
Odd that you would find support in your claims that Michael Vick is the victim of racism on this site from two people that practiced racism on this site.
This site does not tolerate nor partner with racists, not even when they claim to want to see Michael Vick removed from the NFL. If I were truly looking to help Michael Vick continue to play in the NFL using up his 1900th chance, I would not accept the support of racists to achieve my goal.
I do applaud and support the NAACP in their efforts to march and work to protect the rights of ex-cons, but I think they have landed on the wrong side of this argument when they place Michael Vick on a pedestal above his own victims (his family, his partners, the youths he lured into dog fighting, his business partner that was murdered etc). They are working towards a good cause, but using Michael Vick damages their argument. But then again, I do recognize they are masterful at using all press even when its evil and bad to advance their cause.
“His business partner that was murdered”
That was cute, I guess you did not mean ANYTHING by throwing that in there, right? There is that undercurrent again! hahaha
Its funny how you equate the truth of Michael Vick’s business partner’s murder with an undercurrent of racism.
Michael Vick’s business partner Bud Melton was murdered, a few days before Michael Vick’s home was raided by the feds and after Melton gave written testimony to the feds.
How you equate that with racism is beyond me.
Then why put it out there? Bud was not a victim, he was a pit bull breeder for purposes of fighting them. It was probably one of your 20 supporters on this site that killed him. His “connection” to Vick? Vick bought dogs off of him, big deal. ANother non issue created by the leader of the midwestern housewife rebellion.
It is an unsolved crime to this day. Federal prosecutors have been sitting on evidence not sharing it with the local police investigating Bud Melton’s murder.
I’m not suggesting that Melton was a saint. Far from it, (he was a partner of Michael Vick’s after all) he seems to have been involved not only in dog fighting but in drug dealing as well.
The fact that he provided testimony against Vick and was murdered afterwards raises a lot of questions that have not yet been answered.
Rich yourself and other pro-vick supporters like to suggest that Michael Vick only killed, slaughtered and tortured dogs.
In reality Michael Vick created a significant amount of collateral damage, which could include Bud Melton’s murder. As Michael Vick did not come clean and share information with prosecutors about other people involved in the gambling rings (as is normal in a plea agreement), it would appear that Michael Vick is still today, covering for people involved in dog fighting, possibly gang and drug activity and maybe even a murderer, who might be found out if Michael Vick shared the information on criminals that he is secreting.
Claiming that all white people enjoy or practice bestiality is racist.
We do welcome your comments perspective and debate, but you will be unlikely to convince anyone that Michael Vick or other violent felons deserve a continued place in the NFL by making up or repeating racial epithets like that.
If Tom Brady or Peyton Manning had been convicted of these acts, the outrage would have been even greater. That in itself is a form of racism as though we can’t expect anything more from someone like Michael Vick. When it comes to the mistreatment of dogs, the vast majority of Americans are members of the same race – the human race – which does not view torturing and killing dogs as no big deal.
Shut up wit that human race shit u don’t know how it is 2 be a black man in America and dats ok. I not mad at u but wat some white people fail to realize is that racism dose exist. I know yall like to believe the world is fair and that for every action there is a reaction and stuff like that but thats not how the world works. Yall need to open your eyes and stop being so gullible and foolish. Im tellin u racism dose exist and dats the only reason yall hatin on Vick. If this was Tom Brady or Peyton yall know yall would give em a pass and this website would not exist YOU KNOW IT SO STOP ACTING LIKE ITS NOT RACE CUZ IT IS. Alot of yall are racist and dont know and im not condemning yall really i just want yall to open yall eyes and see things for what they really are and stop sugarcoating shit dats all.
That’s complete crap Tracy. If Tom Brady or Peyton did even half the twisted evil stuff Vick did, pulling his family and friends into trouble with gambling rings, coke dealers, and dog fighters, we would be just as loud working to remove their hypothetically sorry asses from the NFL too.
I sure as hell know the world is not fair. Been there experienced that up one side and down the other. Just because the world is not fair, it doesn’t give anyone the justification to go out and cause grief for others.
Michael Vick is a walking grief factory (to date, hope he changes that some day).
If you want to demonstrate how or why this is about race, then put up some proof of why its about race.
If you think that players in the NFL are subject to racism, I don’t disagree. Do something about it. McNabb as opposed to Michael Vick has done quite a bit to make things better. Ironic that they are on the same team now. I’m not saying Vick made things worse, but he did absolutely NOTHING to make things better.
He was working with hundreds of millions of dollars and could have done quite a bit to make a difference and fight against racism. He chose to spend that money killing dogs. That shows how much Michael Vick cares about race. He doesn’t. He did nothing when he had the chance.
He probably did experience racism, but even after that experience, what did he do? Did he join forces with the NAACP? Did he donate a few million dollars to fighting racism? Did he set up a charitable organization to fight it? Did he lobby congress or even the NFL to improve conditions?
No he went out in the backyard and beat up on dogs with his bare hands.
Race was never a priority for Michael Vick. I don’t think he even cares much about it now, even though people defend his sick actions with it from time to time. I think he is a psychopath and incapable of caring for anyone that share any part of his race or not.
How do you know who I am? I personally think you are somebody pretending to be a minority in order to say outrageous things but it doesn’t really matter what race either of us is.
What matters is that trying to use Michael Vick as a symbol of prejudice against African-Americans is absurd and counter-productive.
By doing so, you are like the boy who cried “Wolf”. When true racism takes place in society, which it too often does, there will be many people far less likely to be sympathetic because you keep playing the race card to defend indefensible acts.
The revulsion people feel toward Vick has nothing to do with his race and everything to do with dogs being tortured and murdered.
If Peyton Manning was convicted of the same crimes, there would be far fewer people supporting him because nobody would claim he was being persecuted for being white.
well said tracy and another thing I just want to know this. What is the purpose of this website? To get Vick out da league? U got people that rape kids get out of jail and get job i dont see yall protesting them. People killed people in the NFL beat wonmen and done all kind of things of that nature and where are the protest website for that? I have a question for the founder of this website and i hope he see this but Y cant a man be forgivin and make a living? Everybody else can that gets out of jail so why cant vick? If not the founder of this website cant answer can somebody please. I would like to know?
The purpose of this site is to have all convicted violent felons removed from the NFL. Fans should not have to sponsor former violent felons to be marketed as heros to society and kids.
Its not just Vick. Let them make a living anywhere they like, but we shouldn’t have to pay for them to do it.
Ok den y is da name of da website sackvick den? Dat dosent sound like ALL FELONS IN THE NFL LIKE U STATED?
Excellent point! The site started back in 2007, when Vick was still lying to the NFL, the Falcons, Goodell, his fans and the world that he knew nothing about the dog fighting. He blamed it all on his friends and family, even though he participated in the training, the setup, funded the building of the rings, and went to the dog fights.
He tried to blame it on his family and friends. (add disloyalty to the list of his faults)
We started this site back then snagging a catch phrase that PETA was using. We did not agree with PETA’s tactics nor cause. We wanted the truth to come out about what Michael Vick had done, and we didn’t want our fan money to continue going towards supporting dog fighting rings, like it did for 6 years.
The site has been mostly dormant the last 2 years.
We did not expect Vick to come back into the Eagles without having done anything to make up for his crimes before he went to jail.
Our mission has changed (weeks ago) and we are working on developing the cause into something that is not focused on Vick in name or anything else.
We’ll continue not to support Michael Vick financially, but we will also expand our efforts to cover all other violent convicts in the league.
We see that Vick is a sick and twisted symptom of a bigger problem in the NFL and in society. So now that the site and our experience has grown a bit, we’ll be graduating to focus on the NFL part of the problem.
do you have kids? no kid is going to be a felon because his favorite sports star is. If a kid did do that, he is probably stupid enough to commit crimes at some point in his life anyway.
I AM NOT DEFENDING THE ACT OF VICK DOG LOVER332 all i sayin is why do yall have to keep this story going. He did time in jail he joining forces with humane society to help prevent it from happening again what else do you want from the man? You want him to suffer for the rest of his life? If u really love dogs as much as yall say yall do den y not just use vick so yall can prevent this act from happening again weather than cotinue to criticize the act over and over again? Just answer dat for me please.
i agree michael vick is not endangering anyone anymore. Lets go save dogs because sending vick to a desert island and never letting him return wouldn’t do anything for dogs.
I may have neglected to mention it, but for the record I founded this website. (lots of comments to respond to today).
Michael Vick used his NFL money for 6 years to break the law and cause harm for society, not just dogs but people as well. Letting him return to the NFL serves up a terrible example. I would no sooner have Michael Vick playing in the NFL as I would have Rumsfeld back running the defense department which allowed torture to take place at Abu Grahib. I would similarly not let Michael Brown return to run FEMA just because he said he was sorry about what he did not do during Katrina.
Michael Vick has had an infinite number of chances that most people of any race will never ever have. I’m all for him rebuilding his life, but not for giving him the power (again) to abuse the NFL, abuse the fans of the NFL, abuse us with our own fan money, and show everyone that you can commit a crime, go do a couple years in jail and reap the rewards after you get out.
Michael Vick worked a sweet heart of a plea bargain. Many people caught in the same acts get a whole lot more time than Michael Vick did. He got off easy and lucky. I’m not begrudging him the shorter stint, but I don’t have to and will not continue to provide my support to the NFL or any sponsors that support the NFL or Eagles which all pay Michael Vick or other felons in the league.
The NFL has been asleep at the wheel and they need to wake up. We not only want Vick and other felons to go, but we want Roger Goodell to go as well. He’s as much a part of the problem as the criminals he supports.
If people want to be abused by mike vick let them. Your not an employee for the NFL and you do not support the NFL or their sponsors so why do you give a damn?
see dats wrong y cant he get a second chance in life Y cant a person redeem himself. He going to help the cause of dogfighting so it dosent happen again and dont sit there and lie and say he got off easy he got too much time actually. U are just racist and u know it there no beating around it U know I know yo mama probaly know it so stop acting like this is about felons and shit cuz its not.
As a fan of the NFL, I have a say where my money goes. This site simply helps people realize they can have an impact on the future of the NFL, preventing felons from being set up on a pedestal.
You do not have to agree. We’re not trying to convince anyone, one way or another (its pretty obvious).
Vick can have all the additional second chances he likes (he burned through thousands of them his first 6 years in the NFL) but WE don’t have to continue to waste them on him IN the NFL, nor do we have to support other violent felons, whom the NFL holds up as heroes, when they are definitely not heroes.
Its simple, if you want to play in the NFL, you don’t commit a violent crime.
Can’t live by that rule and we fans will not support you.
Has nothing to do with race, just getting the NFL to hold their players up to the standards that they market them to us. The NFL is selling (currently) bad advertising, setting ALL NFL players up as heroes. They are not, but they shouldn’t include violent felons in that mix as well.
Ok who are u 2 to tell the NFL wat they should and should not do and what u are saying dose not represent what the typical fans feel in the NFL. Most people just want to see him play and what you are sayin dose not make since because Roger Goddel has been pretty stiff on protected the image of the NFL. The thing is u can not just kick people out because they do something wrong. And no one is sayin he is a hero or put on a pestastole or anything. He is just a human just like me and u and as humans we make mistakes in life. Im not perfect and u are not either. Just let the man redeem himself and live his life man y u got to be a hater?
I don’t know why you refer to “we”. Because fans in general support vick. Last time I checked there isn’t many sack vick websites and i hardly believe this website has more than 1% of NFL fans. There hasn’t been any significant protesting. So maybe your “we” refers to 10-15 people. Because more people will watch vick this year than ever before both to see him succeed and to see him fail. Most football fans don’t care what their fan money is going to. And don’t say your an NFL fan because a true NFL fan wouldn’t make a website because of this. Again you refer to NFL players as “heros”. Yes they are heros but for the athletic ability. Only a true idiot wants to duplicate what an athlete does off the field. Kids are raised better than you think.
Who am I?
Just a fan with a website making sure my voice is heard. I could go to the stadium and scream at the top of my lungs and maybe a few people around me would hear.
However, doing it this way, rejecting calls for violence against Michael Vick and against his detractors, editing out racist words, we’ve enabled tens of thousands of people to understand the situation, the problem, and their individual power to make a difference.
Now we are going to grow and do even more good, by working to get other violent felons out of the NFL, in addition to Michael Vick.
If you want to counter what we are doing, then you need to find a way to reach the masses. (below each submit comment button, I give the three simple steps of what it takes to set up a website). Not saying you have to do it that way, but in the time you have spent commenting to defend Michael Vick and make accusations of racism, you could have created a website yourself to promote the things that you feel important.
If you want to create a website to fight racism in or out of the NFL, drop us a link after you set it up. Most of our visitors and myself will be happy to help support your efforts.
Hey Ralph,
I guess if you are right then you have nothing to fear. That doesn’t mean that we will give up. We’ve been at this for a long time. We’ve been very successful in the past, but nothing happened in a week or two.
who said i had any fear? i just like to laugh at a couple of clowns who are making themselves look pathetic. Successful? i doubt this website has done anything successful.
Mike Vick is a sociopath; plain and simple. He feels no remourse because he is incapable or remourse!
Jeff Lurie, owner of the Eagles, apparently invited the NAACP to show up in “support” of Vick; just what they support is unknown. Maybe hiring convicted felons, maybe maiming, brutalizing and killing innocent animals. Whatever, the NAACP is in support.
Actually, it’s thought that the ploy was to intimidate animal rights groups into not protesting and to take the heat off Eagles management and place it on the Philadelphia fans by portraying them all as racists!
I guess the NAACP is now the police of who is allowed to protest and who isn’t.
Several news agencies have reported today on what Joe describes.

Phil Sheridan is exactly right.
Those who oppose the Eagles signing Vick are judging him not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character, just as the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. asked in his “I Have a Dream” speech.
jOE WRONG the naacp is there just to support vick and state that he can make a living as well. Vick has so many people that are against him they just want to support vick and let him know that he has support that all the naacp is doing. So its ok to protest him but its not ok to show that he has support?
The NAACP in Philadelphia is being led by J. Whyatt Mondesire, who in 2005 trashed Donovan McNabb and is supporting Vick as part of his lengthy campaign to throw McNabb under the bus because he doesn’t think McNabb is Black enough. McNabb is a better QB and person than Vick will ever be
correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is the original article
That’s the article which Mr. Mondesire wrote to which McNabb said “If you talk about my play that’s one thing. If you talk about my race, that’s another….I always thought the NAACP supported African-Americans and didn’t talk bad about them”
God, i didn’t see this before. this is hilariously SAD! the dream really did take a HUGE detour. Wake up Martin!
Dog lover shut up lol u probably got yo ass wopped in high school lol but in all seriousness though if u really wanted to make a difference u would side with vick and help stop dog fighting rather than dwell on shit dat happen in the past. I really dnt want to make a website cuz i just want to get into the head of people like u and y u hatin on vick so much. Just admit it y would u make a website dedicated on hatin on a [edit racist term that starts with N, the use of which just bounced me from this site]. Cuz u racist and again this is not about felons so i dnt know y u keep sayin dat shit it named SACK VICK. I dont know y u lyin to me but i hope u look deep down in yoself and see what u are doing is wrong. It dont make since to be a hater dogg. In the bible it says to forgive your fellow man. Are u christian? If so then the bible tells us to not judge and forgive. All that hate aint real doing nothin but bringing u down but, u do have the freedom of speech and i respect your opinion. I just don’t understand it.
Tracy I warned you earlier today that if you use the N word on this site again, you are outta here. You apparently couldn’t help yourself. I hope you look deep down inside yourself and start to remove the hate speech from your own lexicon because it is not helping anyone.
Tracy are you a shill? Even if one didn’t know how to spell ‘pedestal’, having seen it referenced by doglover332 to whom you responded…’pestastole’ just seems phoney. The whole ghetto language stuff seems too over the top.
Michael Vick has been running dog fighting matches since he was in high school. He’s been soliciting online for years and giving away VD. The black turban, corn-rowed hairstyle, and giving the double-fingers are his personna. When you throw in strangling dogs, electrocuting them, throwing them against walls, hanging them, and using beagles as training bait, and then lying in court about it…well, you know where I’m going…he didn’t get convicted for any of this. His lawyers plea-bargained with the court for lesser charges of conspiracy to run a dog-fighting operation and interstate transportation of fighting dogs.
This individual is deeply sick. Instead of rewarding him with million-plus dollar contracts (again), he should be hospitalized. He should also have been rewarded with a job of putting dogs to sleep at his local dog pound for at least 18 months.
Now we find he’s relaxin’ at a local upscale pub with a glass of Grey Goose after a hard day’s work at the office.
I agree completely, I think Tracy..”it don’t make since to be a hater dogg”…is a total fraud, somebody’s idea of pretending to use ghetto speak
lol o ok Casey u [edit - inappropriate attack] 2 man shut the hell up i can say anything anyway i want what u got a problem with the way i talk? U Racist 2?
Could be, I don’t know, but Tracy has been blocked from the site for the use of the N word. Personally, I don’t care what race you are, that word is not acceptable.
Doglover, I can appreciate you blocking violent posts or racist posts. But seriously i have read “race card”posts from Vick fans for two and 1/2 years. they are the most bigoted and hate inciting posts when it comes to michael Vick along with the wishing harm on our canine friends. I don’t know about you but bigoted posts from any race shouldn’t be allowed. What do you think?
In general there is no race online. There is no way for me to identify a person as being of one race or another (we’re all just text here).
That said, I already spam any one that uses hate speech (I see this from both sides of this argument).
It is also impossible for me to identify people that are faking their support or lack of support and the tone of the comments that go with it.
When people say that Michael Vick is being attacked because of his race or when people say that Michael Vick is being attacked because he is rich (class) or when they say he is getting off easy because of his race or class, I typically allow those conversations.
Race and class both factor into the world we live in and to dismiss it or block it would not help us get to the truth(s).
There are definitely some complex issues involved here, a number of extenuating circumstances.
Personally, I choose to promote the concept that every individual no matter what their class or race or social surroundings, religion or upbringing etc, no matter what hand life has dealt you, each individual is ultimately responsible for using their brain to choose to do the right thing.
Failure to choose the right thing is the responsibility of the person that made the choice.
Now, that is not easy for people of any race, class or background to accept. Its not easy to live with, its not an easy ideal for anyone, including myself.
But that is no excuse for not trying and there is no excuse for not taking responsibility for your actions, even when the choice was difficult if not almost impossible to make.
Regardless, talking about it, exploring what makes people make the decisions they make, understanding where they made the right decisions or the wrong decisions, not to pass judgment but so that we can understand the complexity of the issue and potentially be better armed ourselves for future difficult decisions is very useful for all of us.
It is unlikely that most readers that come to this site will go out and start killing and torturing dogs for fun. Its also very unlikely that almost anyone that visits this site will go out and spend $10k, $20k, or $30k per weekend sponsoring a prize purse at a dog fight.
But we can look at the situation that led to that result. We can help our kids and friends and neighbors around us understand what led Michael Vick to do this type of thing and what led hundreds of people, kids, teens and adults to show up at his place and watch or even participate.
Helping our kids to see what not to do and how complex the circumstances can be might help them deal better with similar circumstances or even use these circumstances as an analogy to better arm them for other situations that are not the same specifically but have similar ramifications.
We have to learn to talk about race with each other. We have to learn to talk about class, wealth, and poverty with each other.
We have to let out kids and family and friends see that these topics need not be taboo, especially in conversations between people of different races or people of different socioeconomic levels.
So as long as the conversation remains civil (enough) I won’t block it. Its ok when tempers flair a little bit. That’s normal. We can’t all keep our composure all of the time. Again that is just more healthy practice. We have to learn how to lose our temper and deal with the consequences. We even have to learn how to lose our temper but not allow our anger to overwhelm us and take control.
The people around us also need to learn how to deal with a person that is temporarily emotional or angry and if possible work to de-escalate the situation without losing control themselves.
Its far safer for us to engage and practice in this dialogue process online, but it is also far too easy for us to let go and say something that we might not say to another person face to face, not because we are bad, but because our words in the form of text can be so easily misunderstood. We don’t have the benefit of facial expressions to gauge whether or not the person we are talking to really understands the meaning of our words or not.
This is one of the reasons why this comment area has become one of the more popular and successful areas of this site. People can keep circling around and refining what they meant when they are misunderstood. Its not the most efficient way to communicate, but it is not bad either.
I think the key is to tie Eagles sponsors together with the images and facts of the case. List the sponsors on a poster with pictures of some of his unfortunate victims and hang them up in local stores.
On the bright side, he won’t last the season. I highly doubt he will be able to keep himself out of trouble. He’s already had a drink – he can’t help himself.
Stop hatin wen did havin a drink become so bad yall just some hatters cut dat shit out its not koo.
In this aspect of things, I think combining the images of what players have done with sponsors that paid for them to do it, is probably the best way too. I’ve done a little bit of this already, and intend to do a great deal more.
Man shut up he is not deeply sick he is not the only one who fight dogs if u watch the 60 min piece u would have seen that wat he did was accepted in his culture. Not condoning it but just saying that was a way of life for him. I see u a hatter 2 so im not gon get into 2 details again but just stop hatin. Its bad for u. Ane since wen is it illegal to drink? See it shit like dat dat just confirm u just a hatin ass person.
has nothing to do with hate at all. Drinking was prohibited according to his probation and addiction treatments. Read his sentencing documents and you will see it spelled out there. This is an issue that has nothing to do with race and everything to do with Michael Vick’s parole officer investigating the evidence available possibly from the New York Post images or the witnesses quoted.
Perhaps I can help, DogLover – I speak jive…
Tracy is saying that he believes you are not being completely fair, that there are cultural issues involved, and that Michael Vick should be able to drink alchohol on occasion without being subjected to criticism. Also he thinks you are a jive mofo and you should jus’ hang loose, blood.
I like the undercurrent. Keep it going. Can the “N” word be far off?
Tracy broke the ice on the N word yesterday at 6:05 pm; where were you, in the kitchen? DogLover was pissed, too – he redacted it.
In the interest of full disclosure I think I was in the kitchen. Reheating some chicken and brocoli. Not so good the second time around.
Our spam filters normally screen out multiple versions of the N word, Tracy used it twice yesterday, once when first entering the conversation, which I redacted and provided a warning against future use then again yesterday evening, hence Tracy was booted from the site.
The spam filters have been updated a little bit more.
As to the Jive translation, first I’m happy to see humor used more (Airplane quote this time, just read a comment of Rich’s quoting stripes, next someone will probably hit Goonies, I’m Gonna Get You Sucka, Big Trouble in Little China and maybe we’ll move into Naked Gun stuff before we hit some 90’s era movies)
In general, to respond to Bill’s interpretation of Tracy’s argument ergo -> Cultural Issues
That just doesn’t fly for the following reasons:
1. Michael Vick was an adult and ignorance of the law is no excuse to break it
2. A culture that supports breaking the law and raises kids to break the law does not void the law
3. Furthermore, if the law is unjust, the culture that wants it changed, needs to take action to change it.
4. Not only was Vick an adult, but he was a college educated adult, who should have learned about other cultures, society and general laws while he was in college.
5. Michael Vick was making millions of dollars and at a minimum had the money to seek some legal and financial advice from trained professionals, either legal or financial could have told him that dogfighting and gambling rings were illegal. As he did not offer up incompetent attorneys as a defense (he admitted that he could not defend the charges and that he WAS guilty in fact), he either did not seek out this advice or did seek it out and ignored it.
6. Michael Vick and his partners took steps to hide their activities from the public, the law and the IRS. This indicates that they did know it was illegal.
So all these petty comments about Michael Vick’s ‘culture’ being the excuse for his actions are really way off base, and if anything are an attack on Michael Vick’s culture, which looks and sounds a lot like racism to me.
When people say Michael Vick couldn’t help himself because of his culture, that is just wrong. He didn’t grow up in a void of information about the world. He even knew enough about the illegality of his actions to lie about it to the Falcons and the NFL.
hable Ingles?
Da hatin is killin me to bra lol
eagles have a live blog going on at http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/gameday/
but its pretty moderated, I wasnt able to get any comments to post
Ahhhh, the loyal Eagles fans . . . they would chew off one of their own limbs if it meant a championship. You have to admire . . . and maybe fear such devotion. Vick makes me sick. But he is not the problem. He’s just a psychopath. He doesn’t know any better. Shame on the Humane Society for working with Vick. It’s like asking a child molester to represent children. Shame on the NAACP for making this a race issue. With all the big problems that require their attention, they choose to focus their resources on this (how much did Lurie donate). Despite all of this, we need to focus on the real problem — Lurie. I blame Lurie for this sick publicity stunt. He is responsible for bringing this insanity to our troubled city. The Phillies released us from the Billy Penn curse and now the Eagles have brought a whole new curse to the city of Philadelphia.
psychopath WAT? Are u serious? HE KILLED DOGS!!!!!!!!!!! Just like the meat we eat and other stuff like that. Its funny how yall call vick sick for just killin some dogs but yall dont call the people that founded this country sick. We just came hear while Indians settled here first and took there land and killed them and raped them and gave them diseases and all types of things and i never here the word PSYCHOPATH used with them? He not sick he is just human? Why are yall tryin to hold him to some Godly standard. We all make mistakes NO ONE IS PERFECT. And how the hell is Vick cursing yall u sound stupid as hell its people like u that make this country the most hated country in the world.
Since when is it required by the internet law of John that before a psychopath like Michael Vick can be called a psychopath, we must first list and identify every psychopath that ever walked the earth?
Don’t get me wrong, Vick is way up there with the sick psychopaths of the world. I don’t disagree with you on that one. My Great Grandmother was Cherokee walked out of the south on the trail of tears and had to hide her entire adult life. I can’t do anything about what happened to my great grandmother, but I can work to prevent Michael Vick from continuing to harm society with his constant harm on society.
I’ve never claimed that Michael Vick was perfect nor do I expect him to ever become perfect, but his imperfections are so harmful that I don’t feel compelled to support Michael Vick nor any sponsors that pay Michael Vick’s salary.
As I am not religious, I am DEFINITELY not trying to hold him to some ‘Godly’ standard.
But we don’t have to stand around and be victimized by a sick and twisted person either. Let him go survive on someone else’s dime, not mine.
Yes the Phillies lifted the curse of billy Penn, they went all the way with a man who punched his wife’s lights out in the street leading the way, (who just received a mysterious black eye the other night). Good for them.
love dog/hate people.
I, for one, forgive both of them for I forgive those who trespass against us.
PS you may or may not know that when they built the Comcast tower the union guys glued a tiny William Penn statue to the top of the building. So, in theory, the curse was never lifted, Billy got back to his rightful place and all was forgiven.
Are you all serious? He did his time.
Um…. What about the SPCA Exec… Here’s a logo.
Get your dog out the car when riding with Robin Starr
Yet another person who is too dense to know the difference between accidents and premeditated torture and killing
I’ve decided to boycott the whole NFL. I USED to love…..football. But I can’t support something that supports this behavior. mike vick needs to just be euthanized and be done with it.
i really doubt you “loved” football, maybe a casual fan at best. A true football fan wouldn’t let mike vick’s 5-8 plays a game for one football team affect their perception of an entire sport.
why not?
Mr. Arnold. Yes….I USED to LOVE football and I was NOT a casual fan. I’m 49 now and have been watching football since I was 12 yrs old. Fran Tarkenton, Bud Grant, Chuck Forman to Tommy Kramer, Burnsie, Hershel, Cris Carter, Denny Green, and now Peterson, and I actually would love…to watch Farve. I USED to bleed purple. The day they brought mike kick them beagles back, was the day they lost their biggest fan. But sometimes when YOu feel strongly about something, you gotta take a stand. I also volunteered for a shelter for 9 yrs, have dogs and cats of my own. The day I ever thought that my love for football and my love for animals would ever intertwine…well it wasn’t in my wildest dreams. But it has and I chose my love for pets over some cry-baby overpaid felons. The NFL can KMA. These people are right here. sometimes it takes awhile for the boycott to show results on something, but sooner or later it does. I can think of better things to do on Sundays.
Good for you! there is always college ball and soccer! The NFL has been overrated just like Vick for years.
I’m from Buffalo, so trashing Philly is easy. In fact, it’s a pleasure! What other city would hire and be happy with such a thug (look how long they worshipped Lindros, the biggest thug, cheapest shot, 2nd biggest crybaby in hockey – Mario would be the 1st. Go Pittsburg, go Philly, go figure).
I am second to nobody in despising Michael Vick but I don’t think it’s fair to say only Philadelphia would hire and be happy with such a thug.
The city also is home to Chase Utley of the Phillies who is second to none in his support of animal welfare, in fact he and his wife, Jennifer, have been among the critics of the Eagles and Jennifer, an SPCA board member, was barred from a Vick press conference.
There but for the grace of God goes Buffalo, which was rumored to be one of five teams interested in Vick. There are people in Buffalo who think having Vick and TO would be a dream and since it is 99 percent certain that Vick is only going to be with the Eagles this season, I’d start lobbying now against your team signing him in 2010
BAD RAP. an Oakland, Calif., group which saved 10 of Vick’s dogs, found a great way to protest Vick, hiring a plane to fly over the stadium today before the Raiders-Eagles game with a banner reading “Dogfighter Go Home”
And in a bit of poetic justice, the Eagles, a two-touchdown favorite, lost!
I am calling as many NFL sponsors as I can find numbers for. Boycotting all sponsors’ products/services, until NFL gets rid of Michael Vick. The fact that he served his time is a non issue. He may have been legally punished, but that does not mean the NFL HAS TO let him play again, ever. So let me get this right, it is ok to hire murderers (dog fighting is murder!) but not ok to take Rush Limbaugh’s money???? geesh!…
I am sorry to say that NFL players should not be considered roll models because toooo many have “issues” … & michael vick can rot in hell as far as I am concerned he is a disgusting pitiful excuse for a human being. No small prison term will change the underlying personality of someone who thinks dog fighting is ok. He is only sorry he got caught, and only sorry that he is soooooo stupid!
Every pro football game reminds me of the fact that this piece of dirt vick is back in the game…..makes me puke.
also, if he treated/treats dogs the way he did, I wonder does he beat women too??????
onward with calling the sponsers, sticking to the boycott, and then not letting this piece of dirt vick take any more of my time.
Thanks for letting me vent! Thanks for the site!
Excellent point, Sharon, it’s estimated that of all women who enter shelters to excape domestic abuse, 57 percent have had a pet killed by their abuser. No child or woman is safe with a man who has demonstrated the need to use violence against those who are less powerful to make himself feel as though he is in control

Where is everyone?
38 years an Eagles fan…………… I have not watched one game since the Vick signing.
Wonderful news for Eagles fans, Vick’s apologist in chief, Tony Dungy, is talking about his playing for Cleveland, St. Louis, Washington or Buffalo next year
If I weren’t against Vick being in the NFL on principle already, I’d almost laugh at that because Vick sure isn’t capable of doing much for any of those teams (nor the Eagles for that matter).
Vick may have been a Falcon, and might wear an Eagles jersey on TV these days, but he’s really just a red herring
saw some things in the news about Vick so I decided to look how this site was doing. Vick wouldn’t help Cleveland, St. Louis, or Buffalo? I can tell you haven’t watched football in awhile because those teams QB situations are so bad Ryan Leaf could help them out.
lol, its true that I haven’t watched football in a while (boycott of nfl and stuff), but I do catch the reports and Vick is terrible since coming back, still can’t do much of anything and he is slow to boot now.
He’d be a name and that is about it for those teams.
Well, if Vick is not going to be welcomed back to Philadelphia next season, maybe it’s time to let other teams and their sponsors know how we feel.
Here’s a link to the Buffalo Bills sponsor page – and unlike the Eagles, the links still work for now:

Excellent Suggestion!
