We started this site highlighting information that was not getting covered, spreading the word and focusing on Michael Vick’s sponsors with petitions and letter writing campaigns.

As a result, all of Michael Vick’s sponsors dropped Michael Vick. We were not the only cause, but we part of a larger group of people with a similar goal, just as we are today.

Back then we had less reach and influence than we do today. We started the site from scratch and nothing back then,

We are very established as a website today and our reach is growing faster than ever (thanks to supporters like yourself, even when you disagree with our goals).

Again we are focusing on sponsors. To apply pressure as stakeholders we have to focus our efforts on the people with the purse strings. Letters and petitions are nice and do help, but moving public perception and pushing people to change their actions, to choose one company over another, one product over another with a boycott will get more attention.

Now, from the perspective of achieving our goals, Michael Vick and his actions or inactions make if much easier for us to achieve our goals.

He continues to prove that he is not worthy of being put on a pedestal and marketed by the NFL and its sponsors. He has not taken any positive actions (I disregard is 60 minutes ‘performance’ because it was nothing more than an act). Besides, talking to 60 minutes is not action, its just talk. So far Michael Vick and the Eagles have been all talk and no action.

Which will make it much easier for us to convince their sponsors that a ROI in marketing dollars will be harder to achieve.
