Celebrating National Dog Day
EDIT – I published this article a day late. Working too many nights, my schedule got off track. This is one of the reasons why I only run a website and not a group. I’m not the best organizer. 
Today is National Dog Day. We would like to celebrate National Dog Day and encourage you to celebrate it as well. National Dog Day is not about Michael Vick nor the NFL. It is a travesty that on National Dog Day Michael Vick is so prominently featured by the NFL and the Eagles.
In this time of recession and world wide conflict, it is difficult but if you have the means and the disposition we’d encourage you to consider supporting National Dog Day, adopting a dog, or taking action to support dog and animal welfare. We ask you to do this in balance with your support for other causes as well, but on National Dog Day, don’t neglect this particular cause. The world does have many problems confronting it on many levels, but we are fortunate that in our humanity, we can exercise the ability to engage many issues simultaneously.

I have added HSUS (http://www.hsus.org/) to the list of organizations I am sending letters to. While not technically a corporate sponsor of the NFL/Eagles/Vick, this debacle would have been hard to pull off without them. In fact, when I talk with people who are ‘on the fence’ HSUS’s continued support is the reason they give for not protesting. Getting HSUS to withdraw support (particularly following Vick’s obvious lack of commitment to his sobriety; addiction being the excuse he gave for his behavior) would be a great step towards fixing this wrong.
PS: National Dog Day was 8/26. It is great you put up the link, though because every day is dog day!
lol I’ve been working too much. I kept thinking today was Wednesday! Couldn’t understand why the news reports seemed to be off a day.

If you look back, you will see we announced the date several days ago. This article was written to publish on a future date. I must have clicked on the wrong date in the drop down box.
That was compounded by my working all night the last few nights and waking/ half waking up today and not catching the mistake.
Odd how even in my half wakefulness, I can still debate circles around you Rich as you try to defend Michael Vick.
Don’t get me wrong, your rhetoric is not without a certain amount of ability, but you are defending a person and situation that is indefensible.
I am not defending anyone. I am giving another human a chance at redemption.
What are you doing? You are making life miserable for about 18 guys in the midwest who are not going to get their supper on time because their wives are on this site all day thinking they are making a difference.

So since you want to ask the same question(ignore the responses) possibly because you do not know how to add and subtract, here’s the break down.
Hosting Expenses
$600
$600
$500
= Total Cost $1700
Revenue (lets assume that we are eventually actually paid to keep this simple for you)
$125 ads
$50 t-shirts
total Revenue = $175
Net lost $1525.00
or alternatively expressed from a break even perspective….
This site needs to earn $1525 before it will break even.
Now, that does not include design, maintenance, nor time spent. That’s all effort based, I could put a dollar amount to it if I chose using comparable rates for these services as provided in the market, but it doesn’t really matter as the endeavor is and has been underwater for quite some time.

Hey Rich, personal attacks aside, I’m glad to see you coming around to our way of thinking, utilizing comedy references to make a point (Stripes quote re ‘lighten up Francis’).

Keep in mind, I’m not trying to convince you to change, but for an intelligent person, it can be very hard to remain on the wrong side of an argument and lose all the time.

thanks for posting the article. i forgot about it too while working. Vick trolls pretty much say the same things over and over every thread, every forum, every day. I’ve been reading their comments 2 1/2 years. You can’t even say I like black coffee without being called a racist.
