What Would You Do with $1.6 Million if You Didn’t have to Pay Your Debts?
That is the question that Michael Vick is asking himself right now. The judge in Michael Vick’s bankruptcy has approved a plan to repay Michael Vick’s creditors, but Michael Vick does not have to pay any money from his $1.6 million salary this year.
It hinges on Vick liquidating an estimated $9 million in assets, including houses, boats and high-end sport utility vehicles. He would not have to pay creditors during the first year with the Eagles.
He will have to liquidate $9 million in assets including high end SUVs, houses, boats etc, and his future salary (if he has one) will then go towards paying down remaining balances over the years.
Michael Vick walked into the courthouse looking smug and happy. As a person that has exhibited sick and twisted behavior in the past, it may not be a surprise that he would appear jubilant after walking out of prison with a brand new fortune.
Now that the courts have removed the burden from him of having to pay debts with his massive salary this year, can we actually expect that Michael Vick might donate 80-90% of his salary to REALLY start repaying his debt to society? Not likely.
His illegal gambling rings, sucked a number of people into gambling, drugs, dog fighting, animal cruelty and more. He served almost 2 years in federal prison funded by tax payers. He also happens to owe is legal team over $2 million for the bankruptcy case. Any bets on whether that $1.6 million goes to lawyers or to actually helping society?
Celebrating National Dog Day
EDIT – I published this article a day late. Working too many nights, my schedule got off track. This is one of the reasons why I only run a website and not a group. I’m not the best organizer.
Today is National Dog Day. We would like to celebrate National Dog Day and encourage you to celebrate it as well. National Dog Day is not about Michael Vick nor the NFL. It is a travesty that on National Dog Day Michael Vick is so prominently featured by the NFL and the Eagles.
In this time of recession and world wide conflict, it is difficult but if you have the means and the disposition we’d encourage you to consider supporting National Dog Day, adopting a dog, or taking action to support dog and animal welfare. We ask you to do this in balance with your support for other causes as well, but on National Dog Day, don’t neglect this particular cause. The world does have many problems confronting it on many levels, but we are fortunate that in our humanity, we can exercise the ability to engage many issues simultaneously.
The Onion’s Quarter Back Sneak Against Tony Dungy and Michael Vick
Tony Dungy Casually Asks Michael Vick If Dogfighting Was Fun
Must have been a real rush watching those dogs go at it like that, huh? Morally reprehensible, of course, but, man, it’s got to be tempting to head back to the pit and just mix it up a little. Good thing you’re not doing that anymore. So bad." Dungy later showed Vick a photo of his new pit bull, Tex, and asked him what he thought.
The viral jokes, videos, parodies of Michael Vick have slowed down quite a bit, but the Onion is not completely asleep at the wheel. Personally, I don’t find this particular joke that funny, but do appreciate the viral power of satire online.
Drop us a link if you have seen some better jokes, videos, etc. (please nothing violent against Michael Vick or anyone else)
