Michael Vick’s Influence-Fans that Assault and Spit on People
Maybe in Michael Vick’s old world it was cool for his dogs to get so worked up they frothed at the mouth, but even Michael Vick seems to want to present a new side. According to all accounts so far, he hasn’t flown the bird at fans nor protesters. He hasn’t attacked anyone, hit anyone, bit anyone or passed on viral diseases across the border. By that alone, he would ‘appear’ to be a new man.
I still don’t think he should be in the NFL, not because of who he is today, but because of what he has done in the past, what he represents with a lifetime achievement of mostly criminal behavior during his previous stint in the NFL. One of the reasons why I think his past should be a measure of whether or not he is in the NFL today, is due to the fact that he does influence people.
Case in point
His fans and supporters in Atlanta went out and spit on dog fighting protesters that want Michael Vick and the NFL to add dog fighting and cockfighting to the list of banned activities for ALL NFL players. Michael Vick has no authority over the NFL, but he IS the poster child for dog fighting promoters IN the NFL. Like it or not, his name, image and number 7, will forever be associated with dog fighting, BECAUSE he spent many many years running a dog fighting ring paid for with NFL money. (his current problem not anyone else’s).
His past activity seems to inspire his own former Atlanta fans, people that might have been Falcons fans at one time, but now rally against their own home team for any team that Michael Vick might be able to find work with these days. His disregard for laws against dog fighting, could possibly be a major influence in his fan boys and girls who would completely disregard the law themselves and assault people in Atlanta, showing just how nasty southern hospitality can be.
Welcome to Atlanta, where we will spit in your face if we disagree with you!
Sorry, but that is not the Atlanta motto. Even Michael Vick has enough composure these days not to go spitting on people. That goes to show just how deep the damage is that he caused. Even if he has moved on beyond the criminal that he was (and I’d hazard to suspect that he is still as sociopathic as he used to be, just more careful), but giving him the benefit of the doubt for the sake of argument, if he is no longer a criminal, no longer acting like a criminal, the damage he did when he was a criminal and acted the part, has in Atlanta and probably in many other areas, inspired too many people to engage in criminal activities as well.
This IS why, it will take Michael Vick, years and decades to begin to repair the damage he has done. He has negatively impacted and inspired people to be criminals, to engage in criminal activities, to disregard the safety of others, to harm others, and to do so in the name of Michael Vick.

I know those people. It was even worse than the stories. If it had been dark outside…..
I was told security was watching this situation as Gerald Rose’s group(New Black panther Party)was there to cause as much trouble as possible. So i blame the Dome security also. But these people are just another reason i hate mike Vick
This is insane!!! You people have taken this a little too far!! Ok yes he was wrong for dog fighting, but he paid for it!!! Two years for dog fighting!!!!! Do you fight this hard for human rights. Go help a homeless person for goodness sakes!!! Let it go! But I guess that would be too much like right! Hmmmmmmm I wonder if you would be this passionate if he was an average joe or even a white man???? This is foolishness!!!! Get a life!!
Save it for Michael Vick, he’s the psychopath.
Actually, you can’t save it for a psychopath because time, second chances, reason won’t change a psychopath, he will still be a psychopath.
So I guess that raises the question, why in the world would you defend a psychopath?
Either you are nuts yourself, or you are in denial that torturing living creatures is normal, something your average non-psychopath just wakes up one morning and decides to do.
hmmm, lets see, its a Saturday, I have no school today, maybe I will go beat a dog to death with my bare hands.
hmmm, I just received a $100 million dollar contract, but I don’t have to work today, maybe I’ll go finance my buddies so that they can help me kill dogs by electrocution and drowning and forcing them to eat each other to death.
That type of thinking just doesn’t happen.
You are either a psychopath or you are not.
Michael Vick is a psychopath. This same psychopath has been given extraordinary influence over millions of people through the spotlight of both the NFL and now a tv show on BET.
Michael Vick being a psychopath has nothing to do with his race. There are just as many sick twisted people of every other race on this planet. No psychopath should be given a soap box to influence people, especially after they have proven that they can not control their violent impulses to kill, harm and torture.
**IMPORTANT**
Michael Vick will NEVER be kicked out the NFL.
Hes there and you cant do ANYTHING about it!
WE LOVE YOU MICAHEL VICK
HES MY HERO!
MIKE VICK FOR MVP
Just because it is difficult, it doesn’t mean we should not try to.
I will say one more thing. If you ever feel upset at a Vick fan look at the video. These are obviously crackheads and drunks(don’t ban me -it’s true). they are nothing to be offended by. just lock your doors if you see anyone like this-trust me. I live in downtown /atlanta Georgia
First of all I’m a Vick fan and I’ve never done crack or gotten drunk in my life, so nice false stereotyping “Ga dog lover”.
Secondly, Michael Vick did his time and like everyone else, has every right to get back to his life. Athletes, like everyone else, make mistakes, and you can’t ban them anywhere over something what an influence that you described that I see as nothing but an arbitrary influence that is simply your point of view that is blinded by hatred.
thanks for your comments JFein. From my own perspective I do not think Vick fans are drunks nor crackheads, and in regards to GA doglover’s comments, I believe they were ‘arbitrarily’ referring to the people in the video, not to all Vick fans.
JFein, were you there that day yourself or are you on the video? Did you see the Vick fans there spitting on protesters and attacking them as the news reporters have described?
Vick fans that attack people certainly do not help Michael Vick, that is for sure. I suspect that Vick would be better off with more sober supporters like yourself. In fact, I suspect he might have been better off if he had not surrounded himself with business partners dealing cocaine and selling fighting dogs, but for Vick, he apparently had to learn the hard way.
Funny how people defend this behavior in this video. If 4 black women were peacefully protesting something I disagreed with and a bunch of Nazi skinheads came and started spitting on them, etc.do you think I would defend them?I would probably help them get to their cars even if i hated their cause. But see vick fans seem to think it’s ok because these ladies are WHITE and they have zero empathy for animals. And yes, i live downtown and those are crackheads and drunks. the rest of the Vick fans I’ve seen look very similiar and I wouldn’t spit on them if they were on fire.
disappointed in this website. would of thought that you would have some witty blog about Vick winning that courage award. Come on man!
Its just kind of a boring story. Who cares? Even bad people can show a lot of courage, doesn’t make them good people.
Going to prison is no act of courage. Spitting on peaceful demonstrators is no act of courage either
I’d like to set the record straight on the events of Dec. 6th.
We were originally to meet our group at Gate C and then proceed across the street to a more off the beaten path location – the last thing I wanted was to be in a place that could be over confrontational. While our presence was going to be unwelcome, it was necessary and I thought I chose an original location that would be less confrontational. GA Dome Police however, refused to allow us to gather and made the first few arrivals and the press move to another location. We relocated to the WSB van right next to the Vine St. Marta Station. We were never able to coordinate with the rest of the group, some set up in other areas, others texted me to say they were leaving as they couldn’t find us and didn’t feel safe.
While we were trying to do our interviews with the news, the Vick fans, who were incapable or unwilling to even listen to what our message was, verbally assaulted us. I’m sorry, calling us Child Molesters and threatening to skin our dogs, is beyond the pale. While I was giving an interview, one of our group was spit on right in the face. She chose to stand under a tree away from the group at that point. Nonetheless, she was a recipient of outrageous behavior. At one point a man asked her what she was doing and she answered that she was keeping her eye on me to be sure I was safe. He replied with, “And if we chose to do something to her, what you gonna do.”
Let me make it clear and reiterate my message that was lost on the blindly adoring crowds.
Michael Vick is the face of dogfighting and the NFL and we ask Michael Vick to continue his work with the HSUS and become even more vocal against the cruel practice of dogfighting. The love that his fans have for him puts him in the unique position of having the opportunity to be the most influential force in ending dogfighting. To whom much is given, much is expected and we expect a lot from Mr. Vick. He was given a second chance, which is more than he gave those dogs, but yet, his second chance could translate into a second chance for tens of thousands of dogs.
While we forgive him, we have not forgotten and we are going to hold him to his promise to redeem himself. We also ask the NFL to add dogfighting to the list of prohibited activities in their code of conduct.
Nothing that I said was Anti-Vick. I even acknowledged his efforts so far with the HSUS but while acknowledging them as a positive step, said that this is just the start on the right path, we will be here to be sure he finishes the journey.
The fans were disgusting. I used to think that the NFL should be ashamed of Vick, but I think they should be ashamed of their fans. Especially troubling was the woman who unzipped her small child’s jacket to reveal a 7 shirt and as she pointed to the news crews to capture her child’s support of Vick, this child who might have been 6 or 7, gave us the finger with both hands. To me that was more troubling than the spitting and the threats. Is Vick the best this woman can do for a hero for her child? Look at all the positive African Americans to whom she could be encouraging her child to see as a hero; President Obama, Condi Rice, Bishop Eddie Long, Clarence Thomas, Oprah… the list goes on and on, but Vick, Really???
Let me address the actions of the fans. They kept screaming that he did his time, as if that should be the end of the story. First of all, to most of these fans, it didn’t matter to them when he gave them the finger, it didnt matter to them when he was first accused of dogfighting and it didn’t matter to them when he lied about it and it certainly didn’t matter to them when he was convicted. He was then and always was a hero to them and nothing, no matter how cruel and brutal it was would change that. Vick serving time does not wipe the slate clean. Only actions that he himself takes as a form of self remorse can do that, not penalties placed on him from outside forces or consequences that resulted from his crimes.
If you look at T.I. for example, you will see a man who was convicted for a mini-arsenal. What did he do besides serve his time? He created a reality show not for his own fame or damage control, but to reach at risk youth. I know that he made a difference and I am so proud of what he set out to do. His punishment of time served didn’t redeem him, his actions to spread a message did. I hope one day, I can laud the accomplishments of Michael Vick and roll out the red carpet when he comes to town. He has a lot of work to do to make me a fan, but I’m willing to give him the chance. When he does, it will mean something, unlike the unconditional adoration of his fans who conducted themselves in a manner totally in keeping with Vick’s past character of Ron Mexico and his finger giving days as a Falcon.
Candace i support you 100% and i didn’t care if Vick played again or not(in the beginning)But the more i was attacked over the last three years, the more disgusted i became with his return. I don’t support him BECAUSE of his fans.
Also, I was told by Dome Security that you all were to be at Gate C and you would be protected as Gerald Roses bunch was there to attack. I’m so sorry MARTA police didn’t protect you all. You can bet these people like their protests to be respected.
The lack of empathy in Vick’s “culture is appalling. they just don’t care about animals at all.
I’m not a Vick fan or hater but he did his time and deserves a second chance. Anyone who doesn’t believe that loves dogs more than people and would rather save a dog’s life than a human’s life, which are the kind of people I hate.
anyone that believes that Michael Vick only hurt dogs and didn’t hurt any people is blind.
The silly binary argument that you either should give Michael Vick a second chance or else admit to liking dogs better than people is absurd as well. The opposite of not trusting a psychopath is not the dismissal of the importance of all of humanity.
I appreciate your thoughts on this Gtow, but they are not original nor do they make a sound compelling argument in Michael Vick’s favor, nor do they really do anyone any good at all.
I really don’t know what they are thinking when they write this stuff. But then the video says it all
and HERE is the result

The puppy bowl was epic
No matter what this guy does. For the rest of his life he will be associated with the horrors of dog fighting. Ugly, ugly dog fighting….ugly ugly Vick. Ha,! Justice is sweet! I didn’t eve watch the ‘Stupid Bowl’. Not till they clean up the criminals/felons. Probably won’t even if they do that. Didn’t watch it all year, and I don’t even miss it.
We Live in a nation of second chances. The man did the crime and did the time. There is no other profession that would stop a man from earning a living after he served his sentence handed down by a judge and jury of his peers. To continue to crucify him AFTER he paid the penalty is not fair. He was made an example of, has apologized for his actions and trying to right his wrongs. How much more blood to you want? I am a dog lover just like everyone else here, but we have a war going on, genocide in Darfur, the Earthquake in Haiti, and many other tragedies to be passionate about. Dont waste your energy on ONE man who did a crime and did the time.
Get a life already!
Hey RP,
Thank you for your perspective. Obviously, you are a fool and a simpleton. There are dozens of jobs and professions that will not let you pick up where you left off after serving time on a federal felony conviction. There’s nothing in the Constitution either that guarantees a second chance in your profession if you piss it away torturing animals for fun and inciting kids, teenagers and your fans to follow you in a life of crime, drug dealing and dog fighting.
So lets be realistic, 99.999999% of people in the world DO NOT get a second chance. 99.9999% of people in the world DO NOT get a FIRST chance.
You may be a fool and a simpleton. There is no crime in that, but if you go out and commit federal or state crimes, if you are convicted (after you plead guilty) and you serve time in prison, there is nothing out there in our system that will protect your right to a second chance.
Michael Vick, unlike 99.99999999999999% of criminals that come out of prison, stepped out of jail and received a silver spoon in his mouth.
According to reports to the courts, he took almost $3m in cash out of his bank accounts that was unaccounted for and then filed bankruptcy. He got out of prison and landed a $7m contract with the Eagles (yes he may get traded before he realizes the full $7m) but that is a whole hell of a lot more financial security than the 8 million people that lost their jobs during the same 2 year period.
I’ve got a lot more sympathy for the unemployed people that never killed a dog for fun, that didn’t do business with drug dealers, but still through no fault or illegal action of their own, lost their jobs, their houses, their security and in some cases their family.
Michael Vick did everything wrong and reaped all of the rewards.
Michael Vick needs/needed a second chance like the devil needs firewood.
