So lets be realistic, 99.999999% of people in the world DO NOT get a second chance. 99.9999% of people in the world DO NOT get a FIRST chance. You may be a fool and a simpleton. There is no crime in that, but if you go out and commit federal or state crimes, if you are convicted (after you plead guilty) and you serve time in prison, there is nothing out there in our system that will protect your right to a second chance. Michael Vick, unlike 99.99999999999999% of criminals that come out of prison, stepped out of jail and received a silver spoon in his mouth. According to reports to the courts, he took almost $3m in cash out of his bank accounts that was unaccounted for and then filed bankruptcy. He got out of prison and landed a $7m contract with the Eagles (yes he may get traded before he realizes the full $7m) but that is a whole hell of a lot more financial security than the 8 million people that lost their jobs during the same 2 year period. I've got a lot more sympathy for the unemployed people that never killed a dog for fun, that didn't do business with drug dealers, but still through no fault or illegal action of their own, lost their jobs, their houses, their security and in some cases their family. I am a dog lover just like everyone else here, but we have a war going on, genocide in Darfur, the Earthquake in Haiti, and many other tragedies to be passionate about.
