Most Major Advertisers Not Present for Second Episode of Michael Vick Project

This week the major corporate advertisers were just not present and a second or third string round up of advertisers were cycled by BET in between the shows breaks. Most of the advertising was for BET shows or for Public announcement spots. Three upcoming major motion picture releases were the largest ads present, followed by an advertisement by Dell.com. You can see the full list below, which is likely representative of a rapidly dwindling amount of ad revenue for this show. I have not heard what the viewership numbers might be this second episode, but the network can’t be making much if anything off this show in its second week.

Michael Vick blamed his bankruptcy on a financial advisor who ‘did not do the right thing.’
I have to admit that made me laugh in disgust a bit, as one more example of Michael Vick not really taking responsibility for his own actions.
There were extremely few references to dog fighting in this episode. They did show what I believe is the first speech Michael Vick gave to a junior high in Philadelphia, where he walked on stage crossing the stage in front of a DJ to an audience of cheering kids. Not exactly the type of introduction you would expect for an ex felon who killed dogs with his bare hands and was coming to talk to kids at risk of following in his foot steps. (actually the last thing I would hope for for any kids) Michael Vick is comfortable on camera in the one on one asides, but he has a long long way to go before he will become an effective public speaker, he got by on his celebrity and fame and the message if he had one never really made it out anywhere.

Thanks for leaving a reply in our comments. We definitely do appreciate your help in raising awareness about removing violent felons such as Michael Vick from the NFL. We do understand that removing Vick’s influence from the NFL is a small step in the right direction, and that beginning today to make good choices can snowball into even better choices tomorrow by ourselves and by those around us.
I’m also glad to hear that you our site has motivated you so much that you are considering protesting wrongs that you perceive in horse racing and the cattle industry. If we as individuals do not stand up for those things that are important to us, then no one will.

I think that the bashing has gone on long enough,especially the racial stuff.If Michael Vick should think about it, he did to his dogs and had the same mind set as some of the slave owners did. They brought slaves over in chains in a hot ship,sold them,took children from the family sold them too,forced slaves to do things they did not want to do,kept them contained until needed and then used them up with no real care about their human property,other than to keep it alive so it could work some more,and the ones who wouldn’t work were severely punished and could be killed at any time for the smallest infraction. Slaves were considered working livestock,did they make them fight to the death? I don’t know but it seems to me the same sentiment was behind slavery as what is behind dog fighting, slaves and dogs are nothing more than useful tools to increase the prosperity of the owners. Both are inhumane and both have been banned.What Michael did is beyond horrifying, but the point is to quit punishing and open his eyes to that fact that just because he can control another living thing does not mean that he can do with it as he wishes.Open the worlds eyes to the fact that every living thing feels the same thing as humans,hunger,pain,fright,and hopelessness. We all need to work to stop cruelty towards everything,and to keep punishing Michael will not help that cause,only education will.
