Goodell has made his decision as I just heard from one of our commenters here on SackVick.net. Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated pending a team signing him. For me that is a game over, and for many more this has triggered a boycott of the NFL, NFL Teams and sponsors of the NFL.

According to ESPN sources close to Roger Goodell, Michael Vick will likely be let back into the NFL on a conditional basis just a week after he was released from Federal Custody.

We Think Letting Michael Vick into the NFL is a BIG Mistake

The NFL has been complicit in the Michael Vick saga for some time, but the NFL had the option to stop supporting Michael Vick years ago. Instead the NFL hedged its bets, hoping that Michael Vick was telling the truth, hoping that Michael Vick was not really guilty, hoping that all the money they spent on Michael Vick was not a sunk cost, hoping that pissed off fans around the country would forget what Vick did, hoping that football fans around the United States would forget how Michael Vick screwed us all over by spending all of our fan money on illegal gambling on dog fights, killing dogs, hoping that football fans wouldn’t notice that one of Michael Vick’s partners and a witness in the case was murdered just a few days after Vick’s home was raided.

Most NFL fans are willing to forgive Michael Vick and give him a second chance to restart his life, but that DOES NOT INCLUDE A SECOND CHANCE IN THE NFL.

Many people even mention that Michael Vick should only have to face up to god for what he has done now. Well, we fans have a responsibility too. If a teacher or a preacher molests a child in their care, we might forgive them (or we might not) after they have served their time in prison, but ONLY A MORON WOULD LET THEM RESUME THEIR FORMER JOB AND WORK WITH KIDS. That’s the same thing with Michael Vick.

Michael Vick was unable to handle the fame and fortune and pressue of the NFL off the field and we have seen the result. Michael Vick was positioned by himself and the NFL as a hero to kids, someone to look up to, and Michael Vick accepted that position to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars in endorsement deals and at the SAME EXACT TIME he went out into the back yard and started torturing dog fights in dog fighting rings and consorting and enabling many other criminals in similar ventures.

Letting Michael Vick back into the NFL just isn’t smart, its not safe for society, and only a moron would allow him the opportunity to do it all over again. Roger Goodell, Are you that moron or are you a leader?

We will see soon, and the NFL will be changed for it one way or another whether its the choice to support this kind of garbage or whether its the boycott, exodus, and protest of existing NFL fans.

Michael Vick is free (officially) now. What does that mean for you?

It is pretty obvious where we stand on the concept of Michael Vick going back into the NFL. We are completely against it and have been since day 1. He served his time paying his debt to society, but like a cop that commits a crime or a laywer or even a CPA, we don’t think Michael Vick should get his old job back nor a job like it in the same profession. We are not going to dog him, threaten him, or even wish him any ill or problem. More power to him actually if he rebuilds his life and becomes a model citizen, but just not in the NFL.
