Do you have access to Bath and Body Works? If so the best body moisturiser that has ever graced my prune-like skin has been hiding under our noses this entire time. Once you try this inconspicuous find not only will you vow to never be without a tube, you’ll kick yourself for passing up on all those “buy 3, get 3 free offers” over the last few years.
Have you ever quickly glanced at the Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Creams only to quickly skip past them for the more alluring candles and hand sanitisers at the back of the store? Same. My real reason for not indulging in a tube sooner is partly due to snobbery. I stupidly assumed that they would be overly fragranced and not at all nourishing. If it wasn’t for the one eventful day in which I received a free tube of a deliciously apple scented Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream (most likely because I spent an obscene amount on said candles) I too would have missed out on one of the best lines the serial email spammer that is Bath and Body Works has to offer.
I’m guessing that we have all figured out that Shea Butter is the core ingredient of the one body cream that I am reasonably loyal too (I’m a beauty writer, my head is easily turned by a new launch)? There are thousands, if not millions of Shea Butter based body moisturisers out there and although I haven’t tested them all (I have gave it a good go), none has came close to the magical skin softening powers that are Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream. The texture is unlike anything else: soft, non-greasy and regardless if my skin is parched, slightly damp or even oily from SPF (we’ve all been there) this quickly absorbs and never transfers onto my clothing. Despite being what I would deem an industrial strength hydrator (I kid you not, even applying this sparingly once a week is enough to keep my skin supple and taunt) this is not a thick and impossible to apply cream – rather it veers on buttery soft, a little as if someone has taken a body butter and jam packed it into an easy to use squeeze tube.
Yes the Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Creams are scented but in a very delicate way, I have tried several fragrances over the last few years from seasonal Pumpkin offerings, festive and spice launches, all that is in-between and I can honestly say that they have in no way affected any other fragrance, such as perfume that I have applied later that day. If ever in doubt, save your chosen Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream for the evening, that way you will gain all the benefit of all the skin softening properties with the fragrance evaporating by the time you rise and shine the next morning.
Get three, get as many as you can carry (or if visiting the States as many as you can shoehorn into your suitcase) or simply get one, just make sure you never over look the Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Creams again.
